This is the “simulation” I’m looking forward to the most.

Please feel free to add links to more videos for this game.

Agreed! I've been following the updates they've been posting on their website. It looks amazing! Now if only Microsoft would take back its Links franchise and make an equally impressive golf game. If they put as much effort into that as they have into the flight sim, it could put every other golf game past and present to shame. (And I hope they would open it up to SkyTrak and other simulator hardware, too :))

Interesting side note, I think Mike Jones may very well be following Microsoft's Flight Simulator news, as well. I remember reading a forum post I think on AVSIM years ago where he was praising a scenery designer for their work. This was around the time Mike was making courses for Links 2003 and selling them through his website. Oddly enough, the scenery designer - Vauchez was his name if I remember correctly - totally disappeared off them map. He made scenery for Portland, OR and Providence, RI among others. Mike hasn't exactly followed suit and totally disappeared, but the sense of customer abandonment is pretty similar. Really disappointing in both cases.

Sorry to digress. Interesting how two worlds collide sometimes! Glad Microsoft is bringing back its beloved flight franchise. Thanks for this post!

Will you need a flight stick? What if you don't know how to fly, can you still go places and look around? Of course, yes I would like to learn how to fly but until then would I have any use for it?

All previous versions of MS Flight Simulator have had fairly extensive tutorial training schools built in to the package, so learning to fly is easy.

I could be wrong, but I believe that you can just use a keyboard & mouse. However, to have the best experience, a joystick (maybe game pad?) is preferable.

This was true of previous versions of Flight Simulator. The joystick or yoke is definitely preferable! I tried flying with a mouse and keyboard once, and it was pretty difficult to control the plane. Can't wait to try out the new version later this year! Then hopefully MS will get cracking on the Links reboot :)  We can hope and dream!

I have a barley used flight stick sitting in my closet. I bought one to try some virtual flights but I just can’t get into it. Would there be interest here to sell it to someone here?

Bare minimum, in my opinion, would be a decent joystick. Should be able to find one for under 50 bucks.

In this version I heard you can set any starting point and just fly around to watch a city or any interesting part of the world. But that would not be fun in the long run, you might as well look at a youtube video. Like racing games, with better equipment it will be easier and more fun.

I don't own it, but I've heard this is a pretty good setup. Yeah, I know it's a little pricey, but go ahead, you deserve it!  :D

I would keep waiting on hardware...

I'm curious to see if Asobo/MS might bring out some new peripherals to coincide with this very monumental release.

Force Feedback options again, direct from MS, would be amazing

This reminds me a little of the open world in RDR2.  B)

Yep, quite amazing...surely more people want a golf game rather than flying??? Only hoping, figure not. Can you imagine if they put the resources into golf like for this?
