I think most of us are still here, checking in from time to time.  I've been busy on other passions and other titles, love sim racing and been doing more of that for the past 6 months, flirted with TGC 2K but its a pig in lipstick...again!  will never buy it again as long as they are trading off the same ideas and engine.  Designing is so time consuming, i had time once but i don't now, it was fun though.

I agree.  We can only hope that Mike and Andrew reacquire the source code.

All of those comments make sense. Is this still the 'best' that we have at the moment? Graphically and accuracy? Is there anything in the pipeline that is promising? Has the younger generation given up on golf? Will the sport die off?

Well, if graphics is your thing, then just look at any past release in the last 5 years or so...  as an example, Rory Mcllroy..  the Frostbite engine is a thing of beauty and the graphics are top notch... even some of the older TW golf games are up to par, if not better than PG, you cannot deny that..  Now, set aside graphics, if you enjoy the game play, physics, etc. that is a different story.. but graphics, while it definitely makes the game that much better and pleasing to the eye, should not be a deciding factor when choosing to play a golf game.   That's just my opinion.

I am mostly still playing Links 2003...  while the graphics are certainly outdated, I still enjoy the game play and what that game has to offer in terms of a video golf game.

I absolutely agree with you on Rory. I just wish EA Sports would have continued putting out golf games. Links 2003 has very good graphics but not as good as PG. I played TW08 yesterday and it was fun. Actually it was more engaging the PG but the eye candy while nice is distracting compared to Links or PG.

I just really hope the rumors about a next-gen EA golf game are true.

Even if it's not the preference of anyone here necessarily, it's better to have them in the niche and competing.

HB and 2K need some competition for their continually incomplete and often buggy offerings each year or so.

The "for the computer" part is the, sadly, very unlikely aspect

They don't seem to bring any sports games to PC unless they are super mainstream (FIFA and Madden).

i just wish microsoft would bring links back. if EA brings back Tiger series with more realistic play that might work. it's all about the swing for me. give me feel around the greens and putting that works.

I totally agree..

I would be over the moon if somebody at MS championed a new Links, as that's sort of what happened with a resurgence and rediscovered interest that led to the new MS Flight Sim.

With the proper budget and interest, it honestly would be rather easy to create an amazing modern golf game.

The problem is we have underfunded and/or only partially interested parties who've been working on it of late.
