I do agree with you about the trees on Robs second pic, they do appear

a bit bleached. Birdie mentioned he had altered his speedtree textures

with megascan textures that gave them more color and light. I do like the effect

though, and If Rob can get those trees to pop a bit with a third pic he'll have

more of what we're after. Sorry Rob, guess you've got to fiddle some more...lol.

Rob,

I think you may have an easy tree fix without going off the deep end. Use your lighting tab and the gradient colors to fix the trees.

Ultimately, like Birdie has said, it all goes together. Tweak the light, now have to tweak some textures. Unfortunately, a texture that looks good in my scene may play terribly in yours.

I'm using more hue adjustments in the LL to get the balance.

I think the biggest impact of turning up the directional light is providing more contrast. It appears to me to have a touch more aggressiveness with the shadowing and the normals.

Extremely unhealthy amount of time spent in layers library today. I still search for some Slewin bunker lip magic but textures are coming together.

These worn areas really add realism! The green looks as its mesh was subdivided a 1000 times to make these microbumps visible!

Seems your wife's name is "Unity" again... :D

All texture trickery. Birdie, you really need to start exploring Substance Designer. You are such a pro with all this, I guarantee you would do amazing things with it. If you were too time limited to learn a new program, they have a great substance library of materials that can be combined much like your Megascans. Just more ways to find yourself deeper in the rabbit hole...here's my Substance graph for the current course I'm working on.

Really easy to unify your color pallet across multiple textures and change things daily without ever making any real progress!

Seriously, i have no time for this perverted stuff. I'm too much focussed on transferring my Blender fluid simulated water fountain into PG...

Yeah. I have a knack for complicating everything. It's more fun that way, not sure my wife would agree...

At least Unity doesn't usually complain other than the occasional lockup and crash.

DP, at first I thought The Orbs par 3 course was a fictional course. Now I'm starting to think it may be your local par 3 course from whatever planet you came from.  :D
