Well, we went from PGA 2K21 to a mud slinging contest under this topic heading. This is my final post regarding 2K21. If you can purchase this platform for a little over 20 bucks, my suggestion to all who have not just go for it. There are numerous courses and most of them are quite descent. For the online players there are plenty of tourneys. For non online players like me, tours are also available. Played my first tour round on the Korn Ferry schedule at Pro Level and made the cut from a first round 78 to a second round 66. Hope I can finish in the top 20. I must say that there is plenty of fun to be had.

who really cares about this forum or really the game anymore.

i am just glad i can spend my forum time over on the PGLS where we just dont put up

with this kind of crap, that is left to happen over here.

you got to really be a low person to be allowed to be a member there so you can get the courses

and not allowed to post in the forums. rotflmfao

i guess you can say we members at PGLS just don't put up with the forum DBs. lol

this really bothers me.. I'm so hurt.    I consider the source.

but this will make for a good commentary on all the peeps that get courses and don't post over at the shthole pgls.  time for a boost.

so nice to be able to post on my FB  page.. nobody reads.. but I seem to have some followers?

people who are not happy with their lives and they want to bring everyone else around them down with em.

not to hard to just ignore the douche bags of the forum as  they will never grow up and be anything other than

I would suggest all who play 2K21 to turn off the meter and never use it as the game to easy with it on.  I am the Masters this week in the Jimgem Society and am really enjoying it and I will play no event that has the meter.  I also play in TGCC Berr league and Apexhound Society plus numerous others and lots of course to play.

Yip, your right Rob. 2K21 has so many options, it's a big list. They went the extra mile on that. So, no swing meter, and for those who want to get a 'in yer face' real golf experience set these conditions and give it go:

- swing difficulty: master*

- swing timing: ON

- Distance control meter: OFF

- Distance control assist: OFF

- Putt preview: 0

- Course yardage: ON

- Pro Vision: all OFF

- Scout cam: OFF

- Lie grid: OFF

- Green grid: OFF

- Pin preference: open

- Aim marker: OFF

- Wind display: meter only

- Distance display: carry

- Also: turn off follow cam!

- Set cam options (settings/cams & options) for 'approach & putting cams'. That way you get all the alternative extra cams including roaming option and 'worm' cam for super low view on the greens. Playing without grids you really need these fabulous cams to get the complete cam options around and on the greens.

*) ofcourse you can start on a lower level and work your way up. ;)

These conditions seem 'impossible' maybe at first but in time ... 'He Who Perserveres, Conquers!' (especially your own fears LOL :D

Question for you Charles: how do you access the approach and putting cams? I see a camera icon after I hit a full shot that says 1,2,3,4 but nothing happens when I press those keys. This game has a lot of options but figuring how to get to them all is a challenge.

Like i wrote: go to 'settings' and then 'cams & options'. There, on top you have the option to set the standard cam or the 'approach & putting' cams. This option can be set (and re-set) while playing on the course. You can always go to the menu while playing and change some settings if you want. The 'approach & putting' cams option does not have the forward zoom cam but lots of other cams for a front/reverse/side ways/top and roaming view. (All cams can be lowered or heightend with the scroll wheel.) The roaming cam works by pressing (and holding) the right click and move the mouse to the left or right. That way you can move around 360 degrees around the player. These cams only work on and around the greens.

The nr 1, 2, 3 and 4 keys are just to switch cams when you are playing against another player (real or ghost);  while he/she is playing you can switch views by hitting these keys to change the view of that player (usefull sometimes in specific situations and handy on the green to stand behind the player to watch puttinglines etc).

You are right in saying the game has a huge amount of settings and options. It is very layered and thus you really have to go on a 'discovery binge' in the game. I spend a lot of time in the beginning checking all this before i started getting it. Next to that you have the Ani of itself ofcourse (my player) and your clubs (my bag) in which a huge amount of settings and options are available too. To be able to customize your bag (clubs) is really extremely well done. All the top brands are there and every brand has different specs. You can spend a lifetime (and coins! :) ) switching sets and clubs.

Again, there is big bunch of fun stuff to find/dig out in the game which makes this version really enjoyable. So take your time.

I like what Charles pointing out in his post here. The game has numerous options and applications that can be set asside. By utilizing all these player applications  turns your player into a robotic machine with few or no human characteristics. I would like to see one key that you can employ that would bring on to the viewing screen all things vital for you player to complete a successful swing. Then use the same key to make all that stuff dissappear from the screen . As it stands now, the viewing screen is cluttered with icons which deminishes the course appearance and is a distraction. If it is  "Realism" that you seek in a Sim, there are probably a few options you should not disable. A TopCam view which illustrates the layout of any hole that you are about to play is a must and here is why. In both the Links and TW platforms playing the Custom designs, the majority of those courses rarely ever had hole preview in conjunction with that course. Numerous courses had tee shots that were blind and hitting a driver could cause major problems like hitting balls past doglegs or into strategical place bunkers, water hazards, or the cardinal error OB. Knowledge of the entire courses layout is imperative to achieve a descent round of golf. Everybody who knows the game of Golf knows the importance of a Caddy. These guys just don't clean balls, clubs and shoes. They do a very thorough study of a course to be played. This includes exact yardages, where to hit shots into fairways to attain the best and safest angle to the pin location for each and every hole. Augusta National demonstrates that pin hunting is not a good practice, hitting to a proper target on the green is the key. The Pro's Caddies know within a couple of yards what their Pro's club distance is for every club in the bag. The ability to execute or not, based on the advice of the Caddy is why few Pro,s shoot in the low 60's except on rare occasions. The way all this relates to PGA 2K21 is , although a lot of info is obtainable, the player still must execute his shots properly. One severe shortcomming of this Sim is when you get on the green. The whole putting proceedure including the putting meter needs to be overhauled. This is where you are going to loose a lot of needless strokes. All in all however, most everyone would and should enjoy  this golf presentation.

Just as an added note Charles, the next time you visit this forum, would or could you explain the Club Pass? I am trying to get a clarification in the Club House forum, no response so far. Here is what I do know. When you purchase the game (computer) from Steam as I did you are given a Club Pass. This pass seems to be on a timer for like 50 some days, clicking down. What happens if you let it expire without renewal or upgrade? This is the basic pass and there are two other tiers available. The Premium Pass about $8.00 and the Premium+ Pass 2 for about $15.00. The Premium+ Pass supposedly features a truckload of addons for attire, clubs and other things. I did purchase the Premium+2 Pass yesterday through Steam. After payment was received I was never prompted to download any upgrade files so I went into the game itself. My original Pass Meter was still there clicking down. I went into My Player's inventory and did notice that several items in the clubs and attire folders were now unlocked. I actually expected to see more items unlocked. I then went to the Clubhouse Site and under the heading Support and posed the question on how my upgraded pass was downloaded to my game because nowhere in the game does it show me the upgraded Club Pass Premium+2 other than a few items that are now unlocked. In Support I asked directly, what am I getting for the $15.00 upgrade and where can I look for it? This whole timer thing on the Club Pass is bothersome. Is this upgrade also on a timer that if you don't renew the pass will you loose access to the things you paid for or worse, loose access to the entire game?

The Club Pass is just an added tease to get you to play more ofcourse ;). You dont have to pay extra for it to get stuff if you play full rounds but you have the option to do that if you want. The more you play the more stuff you collect. The progression in levels through the Club Pass ladder also depends on your playing level i think, as you also can get extra bonus points.

I did buy in with some extra coins and also my steam wallet and after that i quickly got to the end and collected the whole bunch within 2 weeks i think. For me, i just wanted the whole Titlest and Footjoy collection as those are my brands B)  anyway so i cruised through :P  I never bother with the timer thing as i progressed much faster to get it all in.

Also, the higher skill level you play (pro/master/legend) and the more aids you switch off, you get more XP's (extra points) every round, which also translates in a faster general playing level increase (max level 100), which then translates in more coins you collect after almost every round. For me, on master (and sometimes on Legend as i play that too sometimes) level without aids i collect lots of XP's and bonus XP's along the way on every round i play. Even though i have more than enough stuff i rarely switch my set/clubs anyway, although i did switch to titlest wedges (i did take my time in getting my club set together [which takes some time & try-outs] but once i settled on that i'm good).

As it stands now, the viewing screen is cluttered with icons which deminishes the course appearance and is a distraction.

You can switch off almost everything you see on screen. You just have to try things out by switching lots of stuff off in the settings. You can get an almost clean screen that way. There are some options also where you can put it on 'fade' whereby some notices disappear after a few seconds. Most or all these extra notices and messages can all be shut off. Its all in the settings.

Thanks for taking the time to  explain a lot of the inner workings of 2K21 Charles. I tried to go through the Steam 2K21 Forum and the actual Club House Support Forum to get some kind of clarification on this Club Pass set up.  So what's up with putting a timer on the basic club pass? My concern was that once it had expired the game would be restricted in some ways. BTW, I won my first Tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour yesterday. I am finally having fun again in the cyber golf world.

Your welcome. And congratulations on getting in your first win on the tour. With all the extra's in there plus all the tournament ambiance (commentaries, PGA replay's & cam views) you should have a ball. Looks like your on your way to earn yourself a PGA tourcard! Dont forget to get sponsoring LOL! :D

PS: on the XP's i rechecked what that is all about. When i play a full round (doesn't matter if its solo or live with somebody or in a society etc) i get XP's for:

- playing a full round

- for course challenges (those are the messages you get playing a round for specific challenges)

- for difficulty bonus (skill level, fewer aids)

- for Premium bonus (Club pass perks)

In my case i receive extra coins almost every round i play. Having a bag of in-game coins opens up more stuff you can buy (clubs, clothes etc).

Remember: check en re-check your settings as there is so much there you can tweak, switch off/on etc.

Have fun!
