Is this comparison between the PG RTMS and the 2K21 mouse swing?

Yeah.

I thought the two mouse swings were implemented fairly differently, no?

Have a happy holiday Ian

Is this comparison between the PG RTMS and the 2K21 mouse swing? They are both very similar.
As someone who spends as much time designing as I do playing, once you get used to it, the course designer on 2K21 is much more user friendly than PG and some very nice results can be had if you start with a blank plot, rather than letting the designer lay out your course. Personally, I can’t wait for 2K22, or whatever they are going to call it. Hopefully the course designer will have many more options enabling the user to create a much more unique course.

The criticism has been made that 2K21 courses all look stereotypically 2K21 but they same can be said of PG. Although you can personalise your PG course by importing various 3rd party assets, you can still tell that it’s a PG course.

They are not similar on pga2k21 there is a know glitch where all you have to do is move cursor to screen edge and, the shot is always 100% straight . So therefore you only need to worry about the tempo. And the tempo in pg rts-m feels more realistic

Well Ted, I tried. Now I remember why I gave up trying RTS. As soon as I start my swing, my screen fills with bright colours radiating out from a back centre, so it's impossible to play as I can't see my player.

I wasn’t aware of the glitch but as I only play against the course and I’ve never been a cheater, that isn’t a problem. I actually prefer using a controller in any case.

Good Lord!!  That's not good, Ian.  That's not good at all.

It might be time for a new Lenovo All-in-One 27". This thing plays PG great at high graphics. Even some 3DG courses. Carefree computing. Slimline screen. No noisy box. No dust. No heat issues. No wires on keyboard or mouse. No opening the case and wiggling graphics cards and blowing RAM sticks. Not a tiny screw dropping into the innards in sight. No old fashioned hard drive wizzer shitting itself. No heat sinks and that bloody CPU paste stuff. No earthing yourself as you look into hell and scratching your head with a pained expression. No yards and yards of cables - some thick as your arm and some hair thin seeming to go nowhere and connecting to nothing that you have to shove back into the box somehow. No numerous fans that you're never sure which way they have to spin when you put them back after cleaning pounds of crap off them. No BIOS screen where you don't have a clue what to do. No lugging a huge box to the smirking young punks at the computer shop and coming away with a paper bag over your head. I'm living the dream.

Ted, I've got an AMD Ryzen 7 3700 CPU, Radeon RX 5700 XT water cooled GPU, 2 TB m.2 drive, 32 GB Ram playing PG at 4k.

Only kidding Ian.  That problem is very strange.

How wonderful would it be if you could set up like this without faffing around with the free roam cam. It adds verisimiltude to the experience and, even though you might scoff, it is playable with RTS-M. You should be replicating your swing for full shots anyway.

It doesn't work for pitch and chip and putt - the cam won't look up. Putting would be great because you could gauge your backswing. Oh, what could have been. (My mantra).

Sound didn't come out unfortunately. The sound adds more realism.

OK.  This will be fun.

Play against Jason Day at Highfade's Chambers Bay.  Day missed a 6 foot putt on the first for eagle and it went downhill from there. Young Jason completely lost his composure as the course beat him up.  If you can beat the course (not that easy) you should win.

Not to be a party pooper here, but Mega could delete your account for giving out your credentials and therefore violating their TOS. Why not simply link the files in a post? Perhaps there's something I don't know about how Mega works but here's the link to the Jason Day round:

Thanks Mulligan. I know nothing of these things. (Not that I mind violating their TOS. FREEDOM!!)

Anyway, I'll link that way from now on.

What a beast Chambers Bay is. Some of those par 4s are insane. Anyway I managed to only just beat young Jason. I felt a bit sorry for him. Some greens were difficult to read but it would be the same in real life. It was tough.

I just had one of those classic matches that defy logic.  Would have been great television.  No-one wants to hear golf stories but here goes...

Tom Watson was very solid but I matched him early then I had a triple on the 8th. Hit into the water twice. He had a 5 shot lead after nine. I eagled 13 to reduce his lead a bit but doubled 15.  I didn't give myself much hope but Tom was leaking oil from about the 14th and I was just hanging in. I battled back to square the match but then on 16 (I think) Tom chips in for bird from a horrible position in the rough. It was like the 1982 US Open. Unbelievable.  I was off the green with a severe downhill chip from about 35 feet thinking, "Basically this has to go in."  Well...........it goes in!. All square with one to go. I par the last to win. Perfect Golf is insane.

Great rendition of an interesting course Justin. Thanks.

Gary Player returns to Royal Melbourne after 50 years.  He's hard to beat.  I (Ted Ball) Daly'd after the 11th.  Course management is essential.  (I recorded Gary a few days ago so I didn't recall his round. It will be a test - unless he goes bad over the last nine.) I'm going back in.

This is a wonderful build of the course by the Classic Renditions guys. There is an ethereal quality in the lighting from the 'twin suns' - especially in the morning round. I like that. The landscaping and foliage is superb. Bunkers are great. Textures look very good. Greens are nicely textured and putting is difficult (Please don't use grids or the slope thingy. Greens can be read well enough by F4 or walking around. The challenge is rewarding.)

I blew a 3 stroke lead with 3 to go against Gary. Nerves. But I squared so it's on to the next course. That Royal Melbourne just got better and better. A really tough pleasure Classic Renditions. Thank you. (Keep the ball under the hole!)

It's got to be a magnificent sim if you play a round (even against yourself) and start swearing. It's certainly not a game on rails and it's impossible to replicate swings or results.

So damn enjoyable.

It wasn't Nick Faldo's finest hour at St Andrews but he is still fairly competitive.

The greens seem pretty flat at St Andrews but hide some very subtle breaks. My strategy when I can't pick the break is to hit it straight at the hole (naturally). If anyone is skeptical about their ability to read greens without grids or the slope thingy I can tell you the success/failure rate is within a small percentage but is much more rewarding when you lag nice and close or bag one from 16 feet or so. It just feels more like you're playing real golf than with that horrible grid or even the magic stick. Less arcadey. Ah, never mind.

I was avoiding fictional courses but I remembered highfade's Aloe Ridge course as an interesting outing. I took Lee Trevino there and had a pretty tough time. You have to do a lot of thinking around Aloe Ridge. It's well designed - never boring and always challenging.

Ballyneal.  A masterpiece from jcolton31.

Great golfing experience. I remember being impressed when it first came out. I haven't played it for a long time due to my time in the desert and it was better than I remember.  The open -ness and great visuals on a treeless landscape are beautifully rendered. Big open fairways and blind approaches to rolling greens making reading putts nice and tough. From the Player view (a rule) watch your ball and see it drop on the fairway 300 yards distant. Nice.

I, Ted Ball, have played the great Billy Dunk once and got a pizzling after thinking he would be easy (and after seeing him putt). You have to hit it close and that means some hard calculations.  That strong breeze can muck things up.   Good Luck

Best played to the rules. True.

I've relaxed the Player view rule.

It's because it's so beautiful to watch your shot.

And it gives you a better understanding of the course.

And it's more fun.

But strictly 'no guide' putting.
