Hey Kiwi
I used these 2 videos to get my boats going at lands End
Unity 2017, the animation is much better - looking forward to that
1st video i learnt how to animate- practice and practice best way
2nd video is from JImbobh- this one is very good and easy to follow

i finally got it to work, thanks for the clips oz. BUT how do you ajust the speed ? its going to fast and for the love of me i cannot find a speed control.

Adjusting speed I'm guessing you'd need to shorten your motion graphs so they take a shorter time.
Yes thats a major point that one, have to adjust the speed from 60 to between 1-5 and the time line, adjust and test to see

Even at the slowest speed they go too fast unless the boat is so far away that it's a dot on the horizon.

Adjusting the speed is a kind of suck it and see process, the more time you add to the travel length the slower it will go, so lets say you have a boat travelling the length of one side of the plot, if you set it to take 20 secs to get from one side to the other, its gonna be more like a GT speedboat, but set it to 400 secs and it will travel much slower...trial and error, that's all it is.

Problem for me was that every time I set the timeline to be more than the standard setting the animation wouldn't work.

Anyway we can get a pic of how you have your keyframes set?
I'm sure the community can get you to the right speed, but we
need to see your throttle.

just set up second boat, the only settings i made were travel lenght.then the timeline.as DoGgz said.the time line is the throttle.just keep moving it out till you have what speed you want.thanks DoGgz.

I'll whip you up a script that you can drop in and attach to your boat, then you just have one speed value you can set to what you like.Beyond my ken unfortunately.

Doesn't JNPG block scripts from running in courses?

I just remember wanting to write a script that would turn on stadium lights and being told user scripts are turned off, in game.

Didn't used to ages ago but I wouldn't be surprised if that had changed. Have you heard that? I would think the birds I've seen on some courses are controlled by scripts.
They work with javascript but not c
