Odd.  Everything works beautifully for me.  I'd recommend restoring the original files and the making sure the game runs as expected.  After that, try again.  Something had to have gone wrong in your copy/paste process.

Done and redone several times.  Same result each time.

JoeF are you on the beta build? Not sure if the patch works on it or not.

Yes, I am.  That could explain it.

I wonder what could be going on - I'm now having issues also.

Are you on RTS-C?

Do you play in launch with normal Steam or Big Picture mode?

What hardware and/or GPU?

Maybe we can find some common things that are tripping us both up here?

You'll be on the beta build which doesn't work with the mod patch Joe.

I'm not on any betas but also having issues..

Any idea at all?

(I of course realize that support for this sort of mod is certainly not expected - just bummed as I love it)

Figured out my issue...

FRAPS was the problem.  It was throwing an error I couldn't see as it was a window under a window.

Anyhow - up and going again with that gorgeous water!

Performing like a champ!

Thanks tamuchan!

The patch doesn't work for me.  The game only loads as far as the first black screen with the golden bear in the lower right corner then hangs.

Didn't work out so well for me either Joe. In fact I had to uninstall and reinstall the game. I'll learn to avoid future updates like that from here on out.

Unfair on tamuchan for something that is likely an issue your end. It didn't work for Buck either until he found something his end.

And Joe was on beta - due to the nature of patches, they will rarely, if ever, work on different versions to what they were crafted for.

I'm a  little confused, can anyone shed any light as to what beta build Mike is referring to?

Agreed.

Patch works just fine for me so don't see how the patch is at fault.

Also if correct files were backed up before applying patch, game shouldn't have needed to be reinstalled, just put original files back, verify game integrity and I would have thought you'd be good to go.

3rd party patches are always down to the user whether to install.

The beta build that was used to test what is now the current public release version 1.4.3.0.

I've noticed you don't even need to back them up, as I've reinstated the originals quickly and easily a couple times just using the verify function, which quickly re-instates the four files.

I optimized reflection rendering further.
The framerate may increase in the courses that have many ponds or creeks made of many small waterplanes which are at the same level and horizonal.
The optimized "Assembly-CSharp.dll" can be downloaded from
https://mega.nz/#!Np...6XNTOQ--n6aZlFo

The other three files ("Assembly-CSharp-firstpass.dll", "mainData",and "resources.assets") are not updated.
The three files need to be brought from the old version on 2018/05/17.

Liberty National GC by RobC Hole 1 on the tee
reflective and transparent(new version): 11fps
reflective and transparent(old version):  6fps

GTX 660M, i7-3610QM
1024x768 Ultra High, Vsync off, Dynamic Sky off

I saw the same kind of increase at Liberty as well although not nearly enough to make me want to use your patch on similarly rendering scenes.  However I also saw at increase @ Florida Glades hauling 52 fps on tee of #17 up to 60 fps and enough to make me use your patch on that course and possibly a few others now as well.  So thanks for your efforts sir.

Each version gets progressively better..... I'm even able to use it while testing Kemper Lakes, which had a couple of enormous bodies of water that pretty much engulf much of the respective nines. I've also done zero optimization thus far. One tee box is about 25 FPS and that's really the only questionable spot I've been getting so far.

I wonder if tamuchan is able to add a 2nd reflective option to cycle through that has a bit more wind/wave action for anyone playing a course with the wind conditions up a bit?

If not - no worries, because I totally love this patch, but -- just a thought maybe?
