Everything in Unity is measured in Meters

Course Forge has an option of measuring horizontally in Metric (meters) or Imperial (Yards/Feet).

So if I flatten to "20" in imperial units is that 20 feet or 20 yards?

Any Terrain altering is done with Unity,

so you cannot flatten in Yards/Feet, only meters/Centimeters.

Google:  Meters to Yards or Meters to Feet,  you'll get a conversion calculator.

So "20" in the terrain mode is always meters? Never yards? 21 would be 21 meters or "3 feet" higher than "20?" Right?

All the measurements in Unity dealing with the terrain (heightmap adjustment, terrain dimensions, etc..) are in Meters.

Or, in your question of "20" to "21", would be a difference of 1 meter or 3.28084 feet.

The only time you can get "yards" to display is using the Course Forge measurement tool. That tool will show distance in yards and elevation change in feet.
