A request to all course developers not to add Anime to the splash screens. It goes without saying that most of you have no interest in Anime. IMHO this cartoon/arcade art makes the game look like arcade/browser golf.

I am not a developer, but now there is an ask from these folks who put in hours and hours of their time to create something for the general public's entertainment for FREE and extend PG's lifespan, how and what to include in their course design because you don't like it?    This is a new one..

 

Maybe simply delete it from your course library if it bothers you?

Not really..  I see simple solution.  You don't like what the developer included as a splash screen, delete it from your library.   Now you won't have to see it.

LOL, I don't think it's dumb at all. Like Rob said designers put hundreds of hours into these courses and months of time. And you're going to come on complaining about a Splash screen? After all of the time they put into building the course it's their choice to put up whatever splash screen they choose. Like Rob said if it bothers you that much go in and change the splash screen. If you're not Tech savvy do a search or asked for someone to explain how to do it. It's really quite easy.

Rob. It was a simple request, not a demand or a mean spirited attempt to get people arguing. The posts that follow are by a clique of members who simply like to take my posts out of context. Derailing topics is a pastime for all of them.

 

Again. It was a simple request to designers to keep their splash screens free of Anime characters. Why?  IMHO it makes the game look arcadish and if the trend continued we'd have splash screens galore with Anime characters. I'd rather see, as would most, relevant screenshots and information about the course.

 

This and 99% of splash screens look great! The images and information are germane to the course name and the designer.

There is just one course with a big Anime character.  When I loaded it I was bummed to see the Anime and am hoping this does not become a trend.

 

 I make intro videos by all designers, regardless of their handles.  His handle is off color but that's his right to call himself whatever he wants. I don't have to like it though.  lords8n = lord satan.

It's a tricked-up course currently used for the Tough Stuff event, so probably unlikely that, say, Mr Rose, would be using a similar splash screen anytime soon. I agree, though, seems a very odd choice. That said, had fun playing the event. Brutal and, yes, cartoonish experience.

yep when i seen the flash screen i did not even download it.

from what i read in a thread at PGLS im not missing a thing either.

if i was going to get it i would just change the flash screen myself.

there is another one out there with a cartoon on the flash screen

saying something about what kind of dumb SOB designed this, or something like that.

i dont got that one either, cartoons a total turn off was when i was a kid to, so i skip these courses.

No - He didn't.

 

Per RobV's point above, if you don't like a splash screen that came with a course, use your own custom one.

Many of us have been doing that for well over a year - in fact most of the ones I use are custom ones.

I'm thinking of a series of Raquel Welch-themed custom splash screens. Maybe a Jan Stephenson. I dunno. If cartoons were allowed - The Angriest Dog In The World probably.
