Got this question in an email conversation with the developer of EasyRoads 3D, and said I'd ask here: "How large is the community, how many are using EasyRoads3D?" I.e. how large is the JNPG designer community.

I am used it in the early stages of my current build and I am underwhelmed.  Then again, it is free.

I had some e-mails back and forth with him that resulted in me trying to trick Unity 5.2 into using his Easyroads Pro which is for a much more current version of unity.  What a waste of 3 hours of my life.  Anyway, that was just a couple months ago so he is probably feeling like the PG course building community is UGE and untapped.

Having spoken wtih Developer before, he would make a golf specific one with textures etc if it would increase the odds of CF users buying the paid one.  He also would likely make it compatible with our old version of unity.  Right now, you need to get the old v3.0 and then upgrade the DLLs to get to the new one.

The demo scene he provides also has many elements that are not compatible with our version of unity.

I think the developer would be willing to make a package that is more "golf" specific if he thought there was a demand.

Version 3.01 or 3.02 broke on our version of unity.  v3.0 works.  the nice part about the paid one is that you don't need to finalize you road which is nice.  easyroads has its own challenges and I really hate carth paths in unity.

Some of the guys are bringing their EZRoads splines into blender and linking them.  You get a great 3D effect.  The results are night/day.  I understand it's a tricky process..but with me at this point anything in Blender is tricky..but the results are terrific.

Thanks for the responses. I think it was an honest question on his part. He helped me get the Pro version up and running (as did Stingreye, thanks!). I'm not a pro at Course Forge. I just wanted to see how ER would work since it has been recommended to me as a way to make better cartpaths and for a road that runs right along a hole.
