hi

Im using PP_waterplane2  as my lake texture, simple,..and not the reflection type to help with frame rates

At some view angle i get a greenish-bluish reflection,  maybe its the sun angle? (see last picture)

is there a fix to the settings or should I just use a different mesh?

here is my unity pic in the inspector, and 2 pics showing nice view and then the problem

thanks  Rob

By default PP_waterplane2 uses the DefaultCubemap1 which has more green in it for the grass. Try switching the cube map to DefaultCubemap2 It doesn't have much green in it.

Here you can see the difference between the two

Trust me when I tell you this. I went thru this thing long ago (can't find the damned thread) and not one person could help. However, recently Justin gave me that Idea and it's much better than the Green Swamp look.

I think one of Mike’s courses suffers from this problem but I can remember which.

I vaguely remember instructions somewhere on how to create a new cube map but I don't remember how or where.

I'm lost at

Use the dropdown menu Custom/renderskybox and in the 'render from position' dialogue drag
the gameobject cube .

I can't find the Custom/renderskbox.

I am not in front of unity right now, but I know there is a "render" option under "add component."  I use that to set up LODs so that I can cull stuff (thanks to whoever made that video?  Maybe it was Larry?)  Anyway, did you look in there?

I was going to try using the cubemap method and see what happens:

This worked pretty well for me.  I selected 512 to render and then moved it back to 256 to make it more blurry.

Did you use this to make new water? If so, can you share some pics? Thanks
