Hi all,

Does anybody have a good technique for parking lots, i.e. paved ones with stripes? I've seen some really nice ones in courses I've played, but I have no clue how it was done. Can that be done with EasyRoads? It's just a cosmetic thing, but they do add to realism.

In all seriousness, you could probably just create a big rectangular concrete spline. If you want the lines painted on, you could easily do that in a paint program of your choice. I've never tried it so I'm not sure what you would need to make it tile, but I would guess it isn't difficult.

You could create an asphalt texture with stripes and rotate the texture to fit,

or as I have done create a transparent stripe or stripes and duplicate as a decal.

Your decal will sit slightly above the mesh to prevent flashing but you'll never know it.

I use blender to create the shape I want.  For example, a rectangle with rounded edges (relatively flat) and then place the free easy roads texture on it.  For parking lines I use an appropriately shaped white cube.  I place two stripes and then ctrl-d a few times to populate.  This method requires a fairly even/flat surface though.

This was my first task in blender, so don't let it scare you.  There are some great tutorials out there...

I should have known one of our resident artists would have done so already.
