Anyone ever had this issue?

I have Vsync set to "off" in my settings.

Every single time I launch the game though, PG has turned Vsync back on (but not showing as "On" in settings).

Every time I launch the game I have to manually go turn the Vsync setting to "on" (to either every frame or every second frame) and then back "off" and  then it's actually "off" and the FPS is uncapped, as shown by FRAPS or the like.

I can't figure out what's happening.

Seems like maybe a bug.

Very frustrating though because you can't go toggle it on/off when in Big Picture Mode as it's all inaccessible so you have to use the Console to toggle vsync on/off again.

I've even tried adding the console command of "r_vSyncCount=0" to my autoexec.cfg - no luck there either.

Any ideas?

If Nvidia, right click desktop >> manage 3d settings >> vertical sync.

Beware there are global settings and per app settings.

Check both. If not Nvidia, well, don't I feel silly.

Yep - did that - have vsync totally off in there both globally and with a profile for PG.

I had the same issue and I could not figure out how to fix it. Then, I decided to upgrade motherboards and when I did that it fixed it.  I don't think it was the mother board though.  I am not certain, but I think it was related to the dreaded windows 1809 update (well known to cause audio issues).  My theory is that a clean install of windows and the more proper Microsoft handling of 1809 on a clean install vs an update is what fixed it.

I know thats not what you want to hear though - lol

I am not sure I could make myself do a clean install without knowing for sure if that would fix my issue!

Last thought... are you running the most current BIOS for your motherboard?

I'm thinking if there is an invalid entry in the config settings that it may be reverting to default settings when booting. Not sure how you could reset it and it may not do so if reinstalling if that data is left behind. Have you tried a reinstall? Maybe delete your player profile and recreate it.

Buck, I think this issue has been with us for many years now (possibly since its inception).  Never seen it behave any differently.....

Oh? Crap.

Frustrating as hell now that I have a GPU that can eat up FPS and I’d like to forego my former 60fps vsync preference.

I think I have ran into this myself, but now I'm not having any issues with toggling Vsync off in the game settings. But I have probably gone though a couple of upgrade builds since I tried turning it off last. I still go with the thought that the GPU could be working to render better quality textures than trying to squeeze out extra FPS beyond your monitors refresh rate.

hmm

I wish it wouldn't

The game plays incredibly smooth, no vsync needed, with all the FPS way above 100 I keep seeing.
