This patch is only for Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf ver1.4.3.0 on 2019/05/22.
It can be downloaded from
https://mega.nz/#!p5...CT8LSO8NL6cfytk

Features:
Fixed the shadow problem
The framerate is about 1.4 times.
Extends Tree Quality range for low-power GPUs
NVIDIA SLI is enabled.

How to patch:

Replace "Assembly-CSharp.dll" and "mainData" with my patched files.

In the default setting for Steam,
"Assembly-CSharp.dll" is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Perfect Golf\Perfect Golf_Data\Managed
"mainData" is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Perfect Golf\Perfect Golf_Data

You should backup the original files before replacing them.

Thank you!

Is that linked package the complete one or do we still files from older posted versions of your patches?

Nvm - this is a different patch than h20

Thx!

Wow... I just loaded up my current WIP to see if frame rates where any better.  I only played my lowest FPS hole, but it improved it from 60 to 69 FPS.  That is huge and I thank you for your efforts.  The tree shading makes a huge difference also.  Very nice :thumbs-up:

On the negative side... I had a constant low buzzing sound during course loading.  It seems to go away once the course is loaded though

I checked your patch out to check the shadow issue - now behaving as before.  The frame rates also increased by 20% on the only hole I tried it on so yes the patch is doing everything it says on the tin - many thanks.

Without me doing anything the two files in this patch are dated 22/5/2019. How'd that happen or are they PG files that happen to have the same creation date ?

Thank you very much for the patch.  Works as advertised.  I'm wondering if you could put out a patch/mod that would allow us to create our own avatars?  Ha ha.

Thanks tamuchan! Have all my sliders maxed out, and dynamic sky on, and gained 7 fps. Anything over 40 fps makes me happy. I did notice one issue that doesn't bother me in the least, but I posted a screenie in case you're interested. (see top and bottom pics). The "background" of my carousel is black.  Thank You, Sir!back_02.jpg?dl=1

I think I'll hold out for a version that includes reflective water if that is in fact not in this patch.  I'm interested in seeing before/after pictures though if someone would be kind enough to oblige. :)

Hi...not sure what you mean by "reflective" water, but I took a couple of screenies if that helps.  I also picked up a 10 fps boost with the patch.  ;)

But can you turn on reflections on any course?
Or is this a custom reflection on Abel's Crossing?

Anyway, always nice to see reflective water...

A couple notes...  The carousel is black and the post shot screen is opaque (starts black and goes opaque).

Big time improvment... my swing meter is silky smooooooooooth.  I guess I didn't realize that it wasn't smooth before, but it is now.  Luv it!

Strange note... overhead aim/view only shows shadows on the splines, not the terrain.

Man, I have always been hesitant to try these patches as someone having a lower end machine, I have my settings set just so the game plays good... or good enough in my eyes.     Should I try this?   What files should I back up if I want to try this??   Would not want to do a complete reinstall if I botched things up!     Thanks in advance...

Just follow the instructions either in his first post or the readme file included with the patch. Go into the folders he specifies where both files are (or where ever you have steam installed, mine drive D:) and rename them giving them an _bak extension at the end this way you don't have to remove the file and can easily delete the patched file and take the _bak extension out of the file if you want to bring the old files back. Or you can just zip them up in the folder they are now and then just delete the file and replace with the patched version. If you don't like the patched version just delete the file and unzip the original one in the same folder it is and your back to the version you have now. It's easy as pie!!
