Ive played this game from day one of release when i bought it. now this new update comes along and i cant get into perfect golf. Ive tried the patch and that dosent work. now i cant play perfect golf at and am very very angry.

Take a look at your antivirus programm. My deleted the "assembly-CSharp.dll". I have to restore the file from fhe quarantine file. I'm using Norton.

Ironically, everything works better on my system for PG.

 

FWIW: I use Malwarebytes Premium along with Windows Defender. I have always been a promoter of MBAM.

It has never reported a False Positive on any Steam or Steam Apps files.

 

You might want to visit Virus Total and upload any .dll or .exe file their AV has found as a PUP.  That way you can see the most popular AV and AM scan engines' results.

 

I am running a Scan of the .DLL Norton found as a false positive. On a 3mb file it takes several minutes for all their listed scan engines to finish their scans. I will return and post a URL below this paragraph so others can see the example.

 

Out of 70 scan engines not one found the file as a threat, PUP or false positive.

Don't really know what you meant to say in that post, sorry.  However, Virus Total is for all files on your system, not just PG.  You now have a better source to know more about possible infections from any particular download than you ever had before. Nice tool and smart to keep it in your Browser's Bookmarks Bar.

agreed Terry, apparently the last couple (micro) updates don`t seem worthy a note from the dev (apart from the fact they are making the game unusable in some cases!)

Did you try the "verify integrity of files" thing in properties?

 

Things are running totally great for me, including with that new patch from "tamuchan"...

Nice to get a few more FPS - just wish we could optionally get the reflective water back too..

tried everything and still cant run pg. it starts to launch then nothing. you play the game from day 1 then they just do a nothing update and for someone thats bought the game they end it.

What do you mean by it starts to launch? What do you see on screen? Could it possibly be launching in a window hidden off screen, seen this happen. Do you see the PG icon in the task bar after launch?

if you right click the game in Steam and open its properties , browse to `Local Files`and select `Browse`. Maybe try to manually execute the perfectgolf.exe in that directory `as administrator` will help. That and verifying the integrity of the game files.

If the game is fully installed there should be no problem actually...As someone mentioned, maybe your Antivirus is blocking something? If you are on Win 10, I wouldn`t recommend using a third party antivirus anyway.  Other than that I dont know what could prevent it from starting up...

Well i'm usually all over updates to my steam games, i have two early access titles that i always look see if anything drops, however, i have not received any update to PG for a long time..very strange!

So many issues caused by AV programs, my PC has no AV outside of the windows 10 default stuff, in fact i have never used any AV program in 20 years and guess what? i have never had an issue when it comes to games and software, if it's supposed to work it always does for me, you could not pay me to put something like Norton on my PC...no no no, you are just asking for issues.

I've had an issue similar to yours in the past terbal.

 

The only way I could get it to work was install the game as another 'user' (like another user on the same computer with different login). Somehow it worked.
