If anyone is going to this extreme to play this game well ....

Mailman my thoughts exactly but the fact that it can be done is more reason than ever to allow the controller back in the game. It should never been banned.

Greens, yes I'm sure that can be done but it doesn't alter the fact that however many mice you have plugged in  you still have to make 0.25 ratio or very close to it to stay on fairways and for GIR.  I still know of no cheat that can get you the 0.25 ratio.  And making the ratio is the toughest part of RTMS and what most other things depend on.

With the Steam fix on controller play most everything went straight down the middle hence one gentleman's over 90% FW's made at TP.

I don't like using controllers personally but I do possess one and after Doggs flagged up the Steam fix I tried it.  Even at TP   I was hitting most shots dead straight - so considering I never use the controller  it must have been easy for an experienced controller player.

I understand that the short game with a controller may be more difficult to fix though.

I realize that all the genuine controller players and I would imagine that is the large majority have been penalized because of one or two people using the Steam fix or dead zone controllers.

And what other cheats are out there for 3click, RTMS and controllers - who knows !

And who knows what lengths some people may go to to win a big event - even if it is only a PC game.  The ego has no bounds !

Parkle I agree but am still working to figure it out.  I will say this that someone with great knowledge of the PC could lets say deaden the X or Y axis and then deaden the Z and you would hit that baby straight all day long.  Now if  you have straight mouse and a regular one then going you go undetected.  Just saying but there are all kind of funny programs for the out there and your right the ego has no bounds.

Yes Greens by fiddling with XY axis on a mouse that allows those adjustments I agree you can hit the ball "on plane"  every shot  as you can  also do that by running the mouse along a straight edge of some sort.  In the old Links game, straight edging was definitely a huge advantage.

I assume the ratio for mouse play in PG was partly brought in to combat straight edging .

As far as I can see the ratio, ideally 0.25, can only be achieved by hand or arm movement and I personally find that incredibly hard to achieve as Mailman in his posts confirms.

The "on plane" hit at TP with a ratio of  say 0.27 or 0.23 or worse is still in most cases going to send you way off line and probably off the fairway or green entirely so effectively negating the "on plane" straight edge or axis adjustment.

I just wonder if there can be a fix for the ratio which is controlled by a physical movement ??

I play motion swing and sometimes Rtsm. I use a crossair raptor . Never get the cheat message as i play free hand. Hitting on plane is easy with an edge . Hitting on plane every shot is cheating.

One thing to consider the .25 is huge with Motion Swing which is why I love that swing but not as much for RTSM. I have tried many ways with RTS and find the slower you go the straighter the ball and .25 is off the table there. Lots of intangibles either way.

I flagged up the steam exploit but i don't think anyone knew about it until i brought it up, the issue was more with zero axis pads.  But i do have a lot more faith in people regarding this game, its not the golf club, its rife over there.

DoGgz I have broke out my Xbox controller once again and played two rounds at Pro on a couple new courses and shot 75 and 80. Two things I learned I enjoyed the hell out of it and I still suck at it.

I still get this sometimes even though my play could never be seen as cheating as +9 is not what youd expect :P

I dont really play anymore but i played a round at pebble last Friday at tour pro with controller, i was +1 until the 15th then it kinda clicked and i finished -2 with an eagle on the last, and that's with the caliber ball lol  If anyone says its easy, grab a legit pad and show me.  With constant play i can get pretty good but it does require constant play and range time.  I might record a quick round in a bit, u can see my pain then lol.
