Part of this I agree with but "The Golf Club" has made it through 3 games with course designer support and yet that game is alive and still probably another version someday down the road. There are other ways to make money other than course packs but who said you can't do that even with a designer? "The Golf Club" was making money but not updating all the time and bringing out another yearly version so you'd have to buy that one again which is not a bad way to go. "The Golf Club" also was released to Playstation and Xbox every version to which this game never even tried to do so right there that will keep you afloat because many more users play consoles.

There are many other ways to keep you afloat while still offering a course designer, you could offer up course objects packs with better quality models, better quality trees and bushes, more tees, bridges and such. You can offer more quality golfer models to choose from, cloths and all kinds of things and I think they started it but never finished and just offered everything for free which wasn't smart. And again we see it here, they have course forge but yet are releasing a whole shit load of courses for the trackman users but I would be curious to know if any other sim user that does not have trackman get access to these new courses or if it is trackman users only?

Once you go early access most game companies never put out a finished version so you can't offer up a yearly new version. I know of a few but VERY FEW that have done finished updates.

Trackman doesn't want competing software (.gc2, skytrak, ect) in THEIR game which is why you will never see another version of this game, if there is an updated version it will be for trackman sim users only.

The Golf Club appears to be at least in part affiliated with 2K games.  Links 2001/2003 golfers know all to well what happened when 2K games purchased the Links franchise from Microcroch.  Needless to say if The Golf Club does not see meet sales goals 2k is bye bye.  So I will wait and see how that goes.  So selfishly my best hope still remains in JNPG/PG corner.

Please enlighten me because it seems you know all about the simulator side.

Skytrak and .GC2 is competing launch monitor products. Why would Trackman allow this?

If they would great but this just doesn't seem normal for a company. You guys have subscription for PG1 that they can't do anything about but PG2 they could. Until they prove me wrong I can think however I want really.

They could 100% stop new sim passes or stop allowing us to renew.  We have renewed for 2 years now.  They have chosen to allow us to continue to use PG. They could have refunded and cancelled mid sub if they wanted to or just let them run out but they have chosen to keep it active.

From talking with some of the other simulator companies.  Believe it or not, the software is an area that they make good money on vs hardware.  Given that all the development costs for TM's sim can be applied to other LM's,  it costs them almost nothing and all the other revenue hits the bottom line.  Same with the PC/mouse/controller version as the majority of the development can be done, thats why we have a good chance I think of getting a version of PG2.  While sales guys might like it exclusive, the CFO will need that revenue replaced and that's unlikely.

Further TM sim is geared more to commercial installs vs residential.  nearly every PG sim user is residential.  Commercial locations also have issues using community courses.  That's my suspicion on why Trackman virtual golf does not support user designed courses.

Thank you, it's nice to be informed on things. I am still not a fan of Trackman because It does suck not being able to talk to Mike and Andrew and get excited about what their doing.

I don't hate simulators, I am envious because I don't have the high ceiling height to use one.

I had forgotten about the Golf Club Sim. I remember looking at it and as I recall, even joined their forum. For whatever reason, I was not really blown away by it. Was the Golf Club the platform that had the Portal one had to access? I am sure you would know this, right Joe?

No that was CustomPlay Golf 2/World Golf Challenge, they called it quits as well and built a NEW GOLF ENGINE (NGE) for the Foresight simulator that looks shittier than World Golf Challenge..lol (FSX 2018 simulator courses).

The Golf Club, TGC2, TGC2019 while not a portal still does access the internet a ton especially on the designer side because all objects, textures and such are stored on their server.

Makes me wonder why these courses aren't being sold to PC players.  More revenue for the company, right?

Someone did it for TGC 2019, and it's one of the more amazing RCR's for that game.  It's easily among my top five favorite courses in TGC 2019!  I'd love to see what this would look like in PG 2, with 3D rough, or Turf Effects though!

Nothing visually groundbreaking, but I'd play Valderrama looking any which way.
