Can someone explain to me why all the secrecy?  Rory was advertised months before it came out.  TGC also announced ahead of time.  All we are asking is if PG2 is ever going to be released for the PC.  What would be so damaging if someone, from Trackman, just told us what is going on?  Obviously Trackman is continuing simulated golf and going to be using PG2.  Another question.  Since JNPG is a download and not a retail boxed version, seems to me, the cost for releasing is minimal.  What reasons would there be for not releasing?  Like others, I am tired of the wondering and think it is finally time to put this to rest.  Come on Andrew,  you have had a loyal following for years,  time we got some answers!

It is a question and topic that has been discussed here many, many times.... all with the same result.   No answer or response.   At this point, I could care less.   Other than my before work routine having coffee and surfing the web, not sure why I even visit this forum any longer as there is ZERO going on with this game, forum, new discussion, etc.  I now mainly visit to see what new courses are being released.   Good to see the designer community continue to help each other, though.

Maybe they just haven't had 'the meeting' yet, the one where the bigwigs are all looking at PG2 going 'Wow, this is great, but is there any way we can make more money out of it?'

Then a quiet voice says 'Well we could make it playable for everyone who bought the original...'

'Will that interfere with our launch monitor sales?'

'No no, that's been sorted.  They'll just have something new to play with a mouse and keyboard.'

Then the moment of truth...

Yeah, me too -- Although it's hard not to notice that course design conversation and releases have all but evaporated as well.

Birdie's masterpiece may end up being the final major course released for PG1

A liitle refresher course on what has progressed with this Sim since it's conception about  eight or so years ago. Then under the name Perfect Parallel what has really happened? A few updates, bug fixes and of course a continuous addition of some pay to play courses and numerous custom renditions. Nothing has happened with the actual interface of the  Sim itself. All of a sudden a few years back it becomes Perfect Golf under the name of Jack Nicklaus. Bells and whistles are starting to go off in my head, thinking that under the Nicklaus name, this Sim is finally going to get a kick start and take on the appearance of something resembling a somewhat marketable product. Surely it would be in Jack's interest in making it the best golf sim to date. The potential is certainly there. The question is, by lending his name to this project, to what extent is that beneficial  to both the developers as well as the name lender? In other words , is Mr. Nicklaus financially supporting the development of this project or does he have any other vested interest in seeing a somewhat completed and successful product. It would certainly be a concern to me if I was in his shoes. Interestingly, I expressed similar concerns to Tiger Woods on his wbsite, regarding the different path EA Sports was implementing when the released TW07. They stopped including a CA within the release and the message was obvious. They were no longer supporting custom courses, forcing designers to tweak the 06 CA to make it possible to introduce custom designs into TW07 & TW08. Another underestimation of EA in regards to the talent of the TW comunity to be able to work around this intentional act of banning custom designs. Tiger never did respond to the concerns that were in my e-mail.

All things considered PG just is.

I see a name change and a future release for simulators in the near future.

I am of the opinion once August 2020 rolls around PG goes dark along with simulator subscriptions ending.  Why you ask.   Well Trackman is a simulator company.

On the other hand and countering my suspicion mentioned above is why or for what purpose is Andrew and Mike still around?

Something simply seems odd IMHO.  We are either being stung along nicely or something positively great is in our (soon) future.

There you have it!  Just an old mans opinion.

I have now gone two weeks without playing the game and can't tell you if and when I will play again. I watch the forums to see what others are thinking and seems all are on same page. I agree with Dennis who said it goes dark in August 2020 and PG2 will only be for Trackman and not the PC or console. We need to face facts that our options for video golf are dwindling and its back to the older games or none at all very shortly.
