I still have TW 08 installed on my old Win 7 PC.  I downloaded a widescreen patch from Course Downloads and for a few weeks I was able to display the game at the native resolution of my monitor, 1920 X 1080.  However not too long ago the resolution changed on it's own and the best I can get now is 1680 X 1050.  I posted at the Course Downloads forum but no solution.

I agree with everyone's comments about TW 08 including it's real time mouse swing.  It is a much more complete and superior game than 2K21 and has some features that would improve PG such as making blocking objects like trees and leaves transparent when you can't see your avatar.  Years ago I played it multiplayer on Game Ranger.

Any patches, or tips as to how I can get back to the 1920 X 1080 resolution would be greatly appreciated.

I have managed to get the game installed but cannot get the patch to work. Any help appreciated.

PG and PGLS are far from dead. Multiple Tours are played each week along with our most popular PGLS Tour which represents a career mode. Our players have increased this year on our K.O tournament (Sunday 1900 Uk time) and we are again planning a Ryder Cup in September. I along with many other get great enjoyment from the PGLS site each week.

Just remember - unlike software of the past - the steam integration and multiplayer could be pulled literally at any time and the game is done right then and there -- even for PGLS.

I still play every day and love PG, but I'm also keenly aware that it could stop working literally anytime.
