I've had an issue lately where PG apparently crashes and immediately goes to desktop.  I can usually still hear the game audio but it doesn't allow me to reopen the game window.  I just have to close out the game from the desktop and restart.

Sometimes before this happens the ball freezes in mid air.  I thought I resolved it after changing the power management mode in the Nvidia Control Panel  back to "Prefer Maximum Performance".  It was fine for a little over a week ago until today.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Next time it happens try checking windows event viewer to see if you can tell what triggered it.

Thanks.  I did find it in the event viewer.  Something to do with an nvidia driver file "nvlddmkm" stopping and then recovering.  I'm researching some troubleshooting steps about it right now.  I'll reply if I find a fix.

which driver version are you using? I never had this problem in all these years and I'm also on Nvidia. If it is a driver problem there might be a hardware conflict somewhere in your system. This is definatly not game related IMHO.

Who cares...
