In an attempt to be a little more communicative I thought I would make a little post about whats up this week

1) Camera Systems

We are revisiting our camera systems and implementing the following, Player Cam, Panoramic Cam, Follow Cam and Snap Camera.  For our snap camera there will be a couple of choices initially, Landing and Reverse.  The latter is a little tricky for us since we use a real time physics engine so at the point of the snap we do not know where the ball is going to end up. :)  Replay Cameras will add Reverse and Landing as options

2) New Game Play Modes

We are writing up some mini game play modes.  In particular Nearest the Pin, Longest and Straightest Drive, Drive Chip and Putt and Putting Challenge with in game leaderboards etc.

3) An integration with a new hardware manufacturer

4) A multitude of bug fixes

Some of these will continue beyond this week.

Thanks for the update Andrew. One of the biggest complaints about EA Sports in the past was the lack of communication with their customers, so it's refreshing to see your update.

While not as frequent as HB Studios (and frankly, it does not need to be), communication from PP on PG on at least a weekly basis is much appreciated.

Hmmm.

Already partnering:-

BoGolf, Trackman, Unity and Sky Sports.

Be interesting to see what this new 'hardware' integration is.

Great to know that the cameras are getting this much attention.  A landing and reverse "snap" camera option sounds like a great start.

I would appreciate, in the long run, if players were given yet more camera options. A little bit like in TW08 (for PC), where they could set their own view angles and assign them to a numbers key, to watch their shots from multiple viewpoints if they wanted.

Meantime, I'm not quite sure what "Panoramic Cam" stands for. Anybody know?

I could well be wrong, K11, but I'm pretty sure the "panoramic cam" refers to a camera position well behind and above the golfer that gives a panoramic view of the hole as opposed to the more limited hole view you would see if the camera was only slightly behind and above the golfer. Links has this as a camera position option.
