I think this topic has far more scope for understanding exactly what you were aiming to create, before you begin. If that sentence alone doesn't baffle you... then I can re-read your own question above and feel i've at least answered one part of it...

I prefer a natural couse designed around what the land has given you.

Its more about for me being allowed to go free with my imagination check out this two year old Video of Course Forge
With Forge you can start from a flat plot or make your own custom hills and mountains then do the course

Personally, I gravitate to the "found" or natural golf course over the "pristine" manufactured courses. Having played many of the best examples of both, including Augusta National and Pine Valley, it's the "found golf course" that I seem to enjoy the most.
