This thing is really starting to cook.  The latest previews/news look great.  Great work to all involved.

Indeed it looks gr8!... I have been helping with some alpha testing and for those who were around for TWO, well boy's and girl's I can tell you, this game already blows that away... Due to NDA, I cannot say anything else... :)

It looks great. :)

But, personally, and there is always a but, I do NOT like the Ani's initial position with his arm straight down and slightly angled back with the body perfectly straight up.  Really looks strange to me.

Unless it needs to be in that position for the animation to begin it's movement, I would like to have the body slightly tilted forward and the arm a bit forward and angeled forward from the elbow also. Would look more relaxed rather the stressed position it is in now.

Anybody else agree or have other thoughts?

Jerry

I agree and the way the swing finishes snapping back to that position looks weird.

LMAO, of course.. We haven't even had the player animation available yet to test but at first glance, it looks awesome.. Of course there will be tweaking needed once we get our hands on it to test...

I think you will find, Pappy, that currently only the swing itself is animated. No pre-shot waggle, no standing still, no relaxing or unwinding after the follow through etc... and no obnoxious post-shot reactions and fist pumps. It's basically a couple 3D freeze frames with a swing motion sandwiched in between them. And, yes: "It's alpha" i.e. the beginning of something - not the final destination.

If you're referring to the position where he is standing straight up, of course that will not be part of the golfer animation for hitting the ball, it's a default position that the character is in when he is receiving no animation instruction. When you move to your ball the character will already be in the address position.

During the course of development after early access we will be adding ambient motions and waggles, feet shuffling into position etc as you would expect.

Correct Mike. It is the Initial Stance that I was referring to.

Looks good!  It would be cool in the future if the user could select what kind of waggle they like to use from a variety of animations when they setup their custom character.  Re-gripping, hover the clubhead, half back swing... stuff like that.  Obviously a luxury to have this sort of customization.  Good work guys!

As it's in a loop to better display it, there are frames that won't be in the 'play once' animation

Looking good guys.  Will the golfer's swing animation move in real time with our mouse/gamepad movements? I know in some golf games you don't see the golfer swing until after the fact.
