No kidding, right?   The other day I decided to check out MP, just for the heck of it.. got into a game with a player who made the experiencing brutally painful.   I am always forgiving if there is a little lag or whatever, but this person took an awful long time to take a shot.. and nevermind putting.   So I asked..  "may I ask why it takes so long to hit a shot?"   Basically, he said he had some kind of "calculation sheet" or some kind of reference guide he uses when hitting approaches, pitches and putts...  I was like, what?   After approaching almost 40-45 mins through 3 or 4 holes, I could not take it anymore and left...  look, I get that people want to hit the best shot possible, but that is just ridiculous.
Once these RRs are tightened up a bit with hopefully some of the ideas in this thread, this will be a feature that I am sure many, many will use.

Does that timed feature work ok (like maybe 60 seconds per shot or you forfeit a stroke)? That would speed things up.

back in this thread someone posted about collecting

RR in the game would slow start up. yesterday after i added a bunch from bortimus i noticed

some lag that should not have been there at 70+FPS and my start up had gotten very slow.

i cleaned that folder out and now save them in a folder on my desktop and will put them in play when i want to play them i also closed down access to my steam profile as i really see no reason in it now.

there is a shot clock but i dont think many set it because it is avoided by many

i myself think 60 seconds is to long 30/45 would be fine with me.

Ted,

There are lots of the FRETT I & II recorded rounds at your MEGA site, under "Archives Rounds".  Feel free to use any of mine.

Also...the ball type (Advent - distance, less accurate vs Caliber - less distance, more accuracy) defaults to the Recorded round, for both players.  This won't be apparent until you play a few shots.

JMK59

I uploaded a Cherry Hills recorded round to MEGA.  I'm playing a Caliber ball in this one.  One thing I noticed is that I'm getting Advent ball distances ( 300+ yrd drives) with the Caliber ball accuracy.  I'll go to the Range to investigate, further.

Played Bortimus at Illinois. I started off great and was with him over 9 holes then he pulled away. In stroke play he beat me by 5 shots but I was still pleased with my performance. In the back 9 I had 2 plugged lies in fairway bunkers which definitely cost me a shot at each hole.

Translating the scores into match play he beat me by 4 and 3.

Then I played Ted and managed to beat him by 5 shots. In match play format I won 3 and 1. Ted was unlucky enough to go into the water twice on the same hole. Without that it would have been much closer.

Extremely enjoyable and just as much fun as tournament play.

Translating strokes into match play score only takes a couple of minutes.

Well done clubcaptain. I was experimenting with a new swing and sprayed quite a few shots but new swing is encouraging. All about visualization.

Anyway, I'll start a new thread for this with the LOGIN details at the top.

People can save their recording while playing against others and upload to the site to populate the leaderboards.

Good call, erwildcat.  I wondered why the extra distance just started to show up today ( Cherry Hills is a new release.).  Thanks!

Can't you just play amateur against the TP rounds?

Can't you just play amateur against the TP rounds?

some depends if the setting are locked or not

after looking at some of the others on mega i now see how to label them to tell the level.

Dave,

It's not so much playing agianst TP and Pro - it's the range of score that differentiates.

Under each course, if there were sub-folders of scores (example only) of say  LOW = less than -4; MED = -4 to +4; and HIGH = greater than +4.  The player's level of difficulty now doesn't matter.  Pick the scoring level you prefer.  This is similar to setting your AI player level.

Most of the time, I don't want to know my opponents final score (file labeled with 64, for example) before I start, only if its LOW, MED, or HIGH.

I agree with this.  Next time I post rounds I'll group them in whatever ranges we decide instead of posting numbers that are too specific.

Dave,

I just uploaded another round - labeled "MED_TPC Deere Run_JMK59" into the TPC Deere Run folder.  Try it - I play TP with a Caliber ball.

Maybe we don't need sub-folders - just replace the score in the label according to the following:

-5 and lower = LOW          -4 to +4 = MED          +5 and higher = HGH          use the highlighted as the first three letters (sorting purposes).

That naming convention works well. If people can rename their .rnd file to that system the sub-folders can be organised.

I'm moving house tomorrow and you might never see me again. But hopefully Telstra comes through for me and I'll have plenty of rounds to challenge when I'm back on.

JMK the reason is the elevation which is around 6000 feet so the ball is flying up at Cherry Hills and I love how this game does that as it is so real.

Created a folder on Ted's page and uploaded the older rounds and a few new ones.  All are renamed using LOW/MED/HIGH for scoring range.

Is it just me or are recorded rounds not showing the correct teebox placement for players (if they have moved on the tee) or where they actually aimed?

It makes the ball look like it's curving much more because the aim always defaults at the flag or aiming points even when the recorded player has aimed at a different spot or is playing from one side of the teebox.

i think everyone sees what you are, some of it does tend to look goofy at times, and there are errors during RR

sometimes, the ones i have noticed where all in the tee box area, i got a couple videos where it has me teeing off on the next hole

from the green i have just putted on.

Yeah bortimus. If you move your ball on the tee I'll see the ball launch away from the avatar.
