A few screen shots of my second course. I would say I'm probably about three quarters finished now.

Apart from those cloned 2D trees on the horizon of pic 3 those screen shots are looking very good.

Cloned 2D trees on courses are my pet peeve at the moment!

Their actually way beyond the boundaries of the course. You'll never even see them in a round of golf. lol

Links at Gateway has been sent to OGT. Hopefully it will be available soon. As was my first course this is also an Arthur Hills design. Always been partial to his work. Links at Gateway resides in Romulus Michigan which is a suburb of Detroit Michigan. It's also the home of Detroit Metropolitan Airport which is just three miles away. The catch phrase of the airport is "Gateway to the West" hence the name of the golf course. This is pure subdivision golf and I actually considered doing the course without all the homes but it simply wouldn't have been Gateway without them.

For clickers and sliders it may play a little short therefore good scores are out there waiting for you. The greens for the most part are not terribly difficult so the potential to go low is there. I think this will be a very nice test for sim users as there's nothing tricked up about the layout yet there's enough difficulty for it to be a solid challenge.

I have added challenge tees as well as flyovers for those of you that enjoy those aspects of the game. I have a system that's probably a little below average and have solid frame rate with exception of a couple spots where I dip into the 30 range but nothing that isn't workable with a couple of settings adjustments. I've tweaked the homes to death trying to get every frame I can but at this point there's isn't much more I can do. Truth is there's simply a whole lot going on.

I hoe you enjoy! My third course takes me in a different direction where it's much more manicured and has been created by a different designer but still in my home state of Michigan.

P.S. Special thanks to Larrykuh for supplying me with the overhead and lidar data, as well as those at OGT who took the time to check the course out.

This is a really nice course.

Only two issues for me. Firstly, the 2D trees I pointed out earlier. They definitely are visible when playing the course as I saw them on at least 5 holes. The other issue was the awful looped sound that seems to be planted in the middle of 2 greens (14? and 15?).... it went from silent to loud within a few yards and was just irritating.

There was a bit of a frame rate issue too on the 18th, but that wasn't surprising given the amount of 3D and planting on the course.

Getting the doppler effect on sounds is a very tricky proposition in Unity and the reason you seldom see anyone even tinkering with it. That said that area of the course is in direct alignment with flight patterns coming into Detroit Metro and thought that those that have played the course would get a kick out of getting buzzed by incoming flights. The reason sound goes from nothing to loud is often because on an approach shot the sound isn't triggered until the ball gets to the green. Sorry if you found it irritating but I couldn't force my self to leave it out as it's as much a part of the course as the houses are. Hope you enjoyed everything else. ;)

Very nice indeed, liked it very much. I can enjoy a well designed course in the middle of the woods with no other objects than vegetation, but a course near civilization is nice for a change and the houses adds a lot of atmosphere. Thanks!

I like the idea that your course winds through a housing development. I've played lots of courses like that, but it is rarely re-created in computer golf.
