I have a huge spline that would definitely throw the 'Spline too large' warning if built on it's own. To break It up I added some smaller inner splines of the same layer. This effectively avoids the spline too large error and creates seamless transitions but I wonder if I might run into problems later due to the size of the splines? It runs fine on my PC but I realize others may not be using up to date hardware.
Another thing I am experimenting with are grasses. I created a new grass from grass_1 that is imported by default. I just copied and pasted the grass 2 times with a rotation on each new layer (in GIMP) to create a denser grass to try to emulate fescue grass. I then created a version of the grass in Unity that has the Billboard box checked and a version with the Billboard option unchecked. I like the variety I am getting with the box unchecked and all looks OK in Unity. However, when I run JNPG the non-Billboard grass has big stripes of black/brown in the middle of the patches. I am wondering if this happens because I unchecked Billboard or if perhaps my altering the raw texture in GIMP created the problems.
