I bought this game yesterday but can see no easy way to find a tutorial for putting in particular?

Am wondering if this p2w as with Winning Putt?

As I'm not a golfer in rl I'm clueless about the technical terms used like skimp, etc?

Do I have to buy add ons to play against other people?

What is skytrak and ogt? I use a pc, mouse and keyboard only.

There is no manual for the game, but there are a few guides on Steam that can shed some light on a few areas:

https://steamcommuni.../288140/guides/

Specifically, here are some terms that are used in golf and in the game (this may be in German, but my Chrome browser automatically translates it to English):

https://steamcommuni...s/?id=386075599

'Stimp' is not covered in that guide, but essentially, it determines how fast the greens will be.  That is, will your putt feel like the ball is rolling on a hard surface like concrete (fast greens, higher stimp) or will it feel like the ball is rolling on long grass (slower greens, lower stimp).  You don't need to know the details, but there is a good description of the Stimpmeter at wikipedia or on YouTube:

SkyTrak is one of a few different simulators that can used with JNPG.  As you're not a real life golfer, it's understandable that simulators, SkyTrak, Trackman, GC2, etc. are foreign words.  If using a PC with mouse and keyboard, you don't really need to concern yourself with simulators.

OGT is the Online Golf Tour that offers tournaments to its members.

https://simulation.onlinegolftour.net/

PGLS is the Perfect Golf Ladder System that also offers tournaments (not just a ladder) to its members.

http://pgls.golfladd.../pgls_intro.php

I especially like a utility offered at the PGLS website to help you obtain courses for the game.  Read more about that here:

http://pgls.golfladd....php?f=2&t=1854

Dave's signature (presumably) provides a link to the GW (Golfer's World) site that also provides tournaments to players.  I think this is provided through the PGLS site - you may already know this based on his posts!

I'll have a quick look for a putting tutorial (video).  Essentially, you use a mouse click in the main view to aim the putt and then use the meter/swing method to put power to the putt, hopefully sinking the ball in the hole.  Stimp comes into play - the higher the stimp, the faster the greens and the less power you need to advance the putt the required distance.  Of course, the opposite if the case for slower greens (lower stimps).  Stimp ranges from 8 to 14.  For a level putt on a green with a stimp of 10, the power to make a 30 foot putt is approximately 9 o'clock on the meter.  You will also need to adjust for uphill or downhill putts; uphill putts require more power and downhill putts require less power.

Putting will come with experience, there is not a lot to teach, just try and commit to memory puts that worked in terms of length and forget the ones that did not.

Btw great help armand and dave, the op could not have wished for better info...10/10
