Hi all,

today, i just 'discovered' two fantastic courses: Downland GC and Heritage Coast GC. To my shame i missed these two beauties completely!  I'm playing them in the RTCC rota over at PGLS. At first I was just pleasantly surprised and thought these were new courses, but after checking things out I 'discovered' they were made some time ago and ... by the same designer: Ian Knight. And to my further astonishment, I 'discovered' he has only these two official releases to his name! :(  Unbelievable. You'd think there would be a bag full of Ian's creations out there. Both courses are very good, very playable, very beautiful and very enjoyable (even more if you play well ). As a matter of fact, i think the 6th hole on HC is one of the most beautiful par 3's I've ever seen in the game. A true gem. Also, the sounds and objects used are well done and give a nice immersive feel to both (fictional!) courses. Talk about a pleasant surprise!

Both courses should be in everybody's course folder IMHO. -_- I do hope Ian would get back at it and create more of these beauties.

Heritage is one of my favourites. Come on Ian, you know you have a little idea rattling around in there.

Release the beast....................... :P

They have always been two of my favorites and just love Downland and have played it a lot. So many great courses and sometimes we forget about the early releases and when we go back to them we remember just how good they are.

Yes Ian, please return to designing for JNPG.  Your published courses are true gems and are some of the most realistic looking fictional designs I have ever seen. Your last beta released (Castle Heath) was very close to being final IMO, so maybe you could get back into the game by finishing up that one.

Agree 100%. This is a perfect example of two beautiful courses that seem to have been snowed under by the sheer output in designerland. But what's more, Ian just let it be! Why would any designer with two 'bulls-eye' courses like this on his name, stop designing (other then not being able to design at all ofcourse) completely? The fact that these are 'early' courses and still hold up now is the proof Ian is a very good designer with a great eye for beauty and playability. Hope all these feathers in his cap will jolt his designing back to life! :D

I made Castle Heath (beta) a long time ago didn't really finish it but it is still very playable.
I'd like to get back into designing but feel that I've probably forgotten most of what I learned using Unity on a daily basis and it's not something that you can pick up and use without learning the skills all over again.

If England can win the rugby, you can get right back in there Ian!
