Hi All,

I've been scratching my head and playing with all the tools but cannot get my head around how to get data into Unity. I always seem to be missing some element that is referred to in the tutorial videos.

I have some UK Lidar data in ASC format for a local course (just 4 files, 106mb in total), and it looks great in Global Mapper, I just can't get it exported in any useful way to get it into Unity.

Would someone be able to take the ASC files and turn them into something I can use in Unity? Just something that means I would have accurate heights and slopes, I would then create everything in Course Forge myself and wouldn't really need a satellite overlay if it's not required.

Thanks

Nick

If you can link to the files or name the course someone here can take a look.

In Global Mapper I've used the "British Grid 27700 EPSG" format when importing

Same grid, I just used point cloud instead of asc, resulted in more detail.  So from here just load the CourseForge tutorial, get rid of the trees and adjust the terrain specs accordingly (1500, 1500, 22.9, 1025, 1024, 128, 2048, 1024), import the raw, chuck the overhead image into your Assets folder in Windows, add it as a 1500x1500 texture in Unity, paint the whole terrain, then start to wonder if there's any more to life...
