Hi Guys,

I have been very sick and don't design much at the moment but I managed to get a playable course of North Lakes. Nothing spectacular but enjoyable to play. Unless someone finds a major problem feel free to release it publicly.

Special thanks to JT for the lidar data and help.

I still pop in from time to time so take care.

I plan to play it in more depth later Pete but it looked pretty good to me, although Harry seems to be in permanent shadow...directional light setting maybe?

Here is my lighting, I can't see a problem

Please don't distribute until I can work out the lighting issue

Cheers

If you turn dynamic sky on it is fine, so I don't know what's wrong

Maybe try running your Ambient source as "Color" or "Gradient" on the Lighting tab. Obviously, will require some tweaking. Usually for the colors, I use darker grey selections.

That's it, I keep it turned off mostly.  Probably not worth worrying about.

It could be your transform positioning. Here are the ones from the default CF.

I would gree with DP...change the 'Ambient Source' from skybox to either gradient or colour

Running ambient source as colour fixed the issue and played with light a bit. Also found a bad shader in lake at 11, 14 which needed repairing. Upload again soon

Thanks to all you guys for your help, buildings, tees etc

Peter

I had a slight visual abnormality starting on the 7th hole. I had two colums that looked like small white hyrogliphics  on the lower part of the screen and remained there for the rest of the round. The only time I have seen this before is when the game renders the next scene after hitting it  into a hazzard. Other than that the course plays very nicely and from tee to green is very well done. Great textures and planting. I would really have loved to have seen a complimentary pano for this design. The wasteland look that appears in many renders past the fairways and rough, is a real distraction for me. It looks like a wildfire ravaged the area and the only thing they could save was the golf course. Not meant as a criticism it is just my opinion. The course itself is first rate.

Yes, Jurgie I agree they are all houses around the course and no mountains IRL. Unfortunately I struggle to finish because of Illness, but wanted to release a finished product out of respect for JT who helped me. I could of planted more houses and trees but it would slow down the FPS. As for the hyrogliphics, I thought that was a PG thing rather than a course thing. Appreciate the feedback,

Cheers

Peter

I've played it a few times Pete and nothing bad stands out.  It's a good course nicely presented, must be nice to be able to do your own 3D...

If I ever finish the half dozen courses on the hard drive, and Victoria lidar becomes available, and RobC does Ocean Dunes, I think we can close the book on Australian courses in PG.

No problem Peter, hope you get to feeling better soon. My coment was not meant to criticise your course in any way. The design is very well laid out and is very eye appealing. My personal preference and that is all it is, is a course with pano that disguises and hides all the wasteland terrain beyond the fairways.

No worries, I didn't take it in a negative way at all, in fact, I agree. Had I not been so sick I would do something about it.
