When indexing a course is it essential to handicap the front 9 as odd numbers and the back as even, can you index the front as even and the back as odd?  I ask because for some reason i did just that, even for front 9 and odd for back 9 lol i'm lazy and dont wanna go back in and change it around  :)

I don't think it matters as long as you stick to the even / odd rule.

Pebble Beach's odd numbers are on the back nine. I think Olympic's might be as well, or were at one time.
