Just a redo of my home course using overlay and basic 3d grass. I've played it lots of times so should be a final but happy to address any issues that people spot.

As usual, a massive thank you to NoPutt who got me started and has guided me through all the new techniques and Justin for his help too.

In case you are wondering why I've planted a house out in the terrain, that's where I live.

I found the semi rough a nightmare to do as there was so much variation in the image colours. It sparkles in the dark areas and stubbles in the light areas. That's the best I could do so apologies to the 3dg wizards out there.

I'm not crazy about links courses and pot bunkers.........but this is a work of art.

I set it to practice mode to check out FPS and an initial look.   An outstanding re-creation of your home course.  You've really captured the less manicured more natural state of links courses.  I like how you have used both long and a shorter 3D grass with the tan coloured blades of grass mixed in with green for the longer fescue areas.

The FPS is off the charts with 14 holes in triple digits.  The lowest FPS was on hole 10 and it was 67.  These numbers were with dynamic sky on.

One small suggestion is a less blue skybox for dynamic sky off.  I always associate links courses in England with cloudy skies, ha ha.  Maybe you can set me straight with that.

Regardless, one the absolute best links course renditions for PG!  Going to play it later.  Thanks for releasing this to the community.

Thanks for the complimentary review. The sky box was a selfish choice. I play on a sim mostly with player view to get a real feel of being there. The clouds make it impossible to see the flight of the ball. Happy to switch it out for another. Any suggestions?
I did it initially with overlapping rough splines but it created a black swirl with Dynamic Skys on. I redid the rough without overlap and one outer rough spline around the whole course at very high grid fill. This then created hundreds of splits in the mesh so I gave up and didn’t release it as they were just cosmetic and in the periphery so didn’t bother me too much. I’ve had more time of late so smoothed it all out so I could release but I notice the aerial view of the holes when playing is a complete mess. Not sure what I can do about that.

Skunky and I played a full round last night and really enjoyed it.  Naturally I sliced my tee shot on the 18th in to the pond!  He is going to email you with some suggestions.  One suggestion I have is to increase the time interval that the train appears.  I didn't time it but it seems to be between every 30 to 45 seconds?  Maybe every couple of minutes?

We set it to hard fairways, hard greens and strong breeze so it was a good challenge.
