I guess the Free Drop thing does not work it is a choice where the water hazard choices are if you circle off an area with the free drop boundary it says free drop when you hit it in there but does not offer the drop option if you set a free drop boundary and put in start and end lateral hazard things it gives you a penalty so evidently no way to do a free drop

Free drop should work. I had stands on 18th of Royal Liverpool. On the right they were behind the OOBs but on the left I had a free drop which seemed to work fine.

Interesting as I had tested that option for selecting areas like a 150 yard marker Bush.  You would not want that to come into play so I had tried long ago to use that option to circle an area and get a free drop and it never worked then and they said it did not work.

My work around was to not have colliders attached to those Bush markers so the ball would go through and not be an issue.

I can't get it to work but am probably doing something wrong. I circle off and area with the free drop mesh I hit the ball into it and it just allows me to hit the ball again after telling me I am in a free drop zone but it does not generate a drop even it I add in start end things anyway, my work around is to just block it off with a WATER HAZARD selection WITHOUT putting in a water plane what happens is you can do a rehit or drop with a penalty or play it as it lies this is ok because the course I made has a huge cavern so the player can now have these choices I actually wanted a free drop in case the ball rested near some posts I had placed but screw it the player can just play it the ball goes right through the post anyway maybe I could change the objects to something that would prevent that trees .. trees ya can't hit through them I wonder why these posts ya can download for free the ball rolls right through them ..

Free Drop does not work and never has.

A rolling ball will pass through any object

unless it is named Spline*object, in which case

it will hop on top of object such as a cartpath

or wall.

Thanks you guys are PROS !!!

OH !!! I just had an idea I have these boards laying on the ground kind of like a ralroad tie sitting there sort of maybe if I put  a cart path under it .. what happens if a ball ends up on a cart path I put down is there an automatic free drop ???? or do we just hit off the cart path ...
