So I bought the shader today because I finally got Hazeltine buffered with low res rough and rerouted the whole course as per what they played in the 2016 Ryder Cup so I went to the asset store IN unity as I was watching DP's videos and I could not buy it as it requires version Unity 5.6.0 so he must have updated it. I did go to the asset store in my browser though and bought it and then copied my invoice number and downloaded the legacy version of 1.8.2 but that will not import as it says I already have all the files in my project already. WTF?

I see no stix games folder and when I did download the 2.32 version and import it in Unity 2019 in a separate project and then move that folder to my Hazeltine folder it gave me all kinds of errors when I got into my project and when I cleared them I lost the ability to turn on course forge at the top so I loaded that asset again so that is good to go but what the hell version do I need to be able to give my course 3d grass? I was going to export all my cartpart shapes and rough shapes today into blender but I guess that is a no go..lol

Geez I spent all this time getting the buffer shapes in and then this happens. God I knew I should have bought that shader when I his 3d grass tutorials first came out..

I know there is a thread in there forum about updating to 2.0.0 but it seems you must have used it previously.

The STIX guy provided an older version for us.  If I remember correctly, DPR shared a link for it...

I think there's a legacy link. Can't check at the moment. But, the Stix creator, Nonakesh, is a great dude. He will provide it for you. He doesn't check his mail on weekends though.

We'll get it working for you. It'll be worth your expense.

I did get the legacy version which is 1.8.2 but that won't work either as it says I already have the assets in my project to which I don't because i've never bought it before so I can't get it to import into the folder...lol

If you can't get it to import - make a new project and import it. Then, you will have a Stix Games folder that you can drag from file explorer into your Hazeltine project. Obviously, do this all in Unity 5.2.3f.

New project and even then with nothing but a terrain added it says "All assets already included in project", I have a feeling 1.8.2 the legacy file is still to freaken new..lol

On a side note I already had a course imported to the newest unity with moving clouds and stuff on another course and it's actually really cool but no way to really put down shapes like course forge..lol

Here's what worked for me:

  1. Locate your asset download folder
    • In windows it's located under "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Asset Store-5.x\"
    • On a mac it's located under "~/Library/Unity/Asset Store/"
  2. Find the folder of the asset that's giving you trouble, and delete it
  3. Go back to the asset store and re-download the asset
  4. Import

Hope this helps

Cheers RobC

Yeah that didn't work for me but thanks, still have that same message popping up about all assets already in project. I will uninstall Unity Hub and Unity 2019.3.12f1 and then see if that works but I might have to start fresh with a new install of Unity 5.2.3f1.

I'll try that tomorrow night as I have a few things to watch on YouTube on my 75 inch 4K HDR TV..lol

God If I could at least extract it I could zip up the folder and just move it somewhere on another drive so I don't have to uncompress it again and run into this problem.

So I reinstalled even windows 10 because removing all versions of unity wasn't working and got everything back up and running and installed Unity 5.2.3f1 and created a new project, created a 3d terrain and then tried to import the directx grass shader 1.8.2.unityasset and still gives me this message that all assets are already in project. I asked stix games if that legacy version was the right one for 5.2.3f1 or if it was corrupt somehow. I'm about ready to give up!!!

$30.00 down the drain but yet the new version imports easy but it will not work and gives many errors since it is so new and not for our version.
