It's official: EA will shut down TWO on June 6th 2013. I shan't miss it, but I will miss all the good friends I made there and who made this sorry, incomplete game worthwile for me. I salute DoktorSlice (or UppiTuppi), AmuroRay73, bbattens, liendad59, fredfarcal, KeeF-coFFee, Gavarossi, Maineah form the Stoners Club, everybody from the Super Pack and and oh-so many others... You were great, it was a pleasure and an honor.

RIP TWO. Big reunion on PerfectGolf? I hope so.

Interesting. I wonder what their reasons are for the shutdown.

I played a little bit back two years ago, but never really fell in love with it.

Yes I'm upset with EA Sports shutting down Tiger Woods PGA Tour online and Masters 12 PC. I've been a member since 2008.

I hope Perfect Parallel  golf is good and stays on line for a long long time.

Never been there, have been a Links diehard since 97.  I can only imagine its like real grief.  The mere mention of my favorite Links sites changing/closing sends utter panick through the ranks.  Sorry for your loss, welcome to the best place on the net for golf simulation and PC golf enthusiasts.  Steve

Rest in peace TWO, long live PG.

Agree with Kablammo11, good people on TWO who made it all worthwhile.

Hope they all come here and we meet up again soon.

I too enjoyed Links up to version 2003. I tried TWO and WGT but didn't like them, my interest in golf waned. Now I have a new spark of enthusiasm, a lot like waiting for Christmas!

Did you ever try links 2003 with the mod (modification)? If not you might find something to recapture your enthusiasm in the coming months whilst you wait for PG.

The mod made changes to some of the links code to improve ball physics and distances. Try apcd courses website or links comer for more info.

I have not had the game installed in a long time. I do have the disks and I might just try your suggestions. Thanks!

After installing the Links 2003 game, run the 1.02, 1.05 and then the 1.07 patches. You will think it is a new game and will keep you going until PP comes out.

Especially when you see some f the fantastic renditions that some of the guys on this forum have created.

Wayne - Wagga Wagga is still my favourite. I think there are some that have achieved more since but at its time it was immense (and still one f the 3 or 4 I go back to for a friendly 18).

I"m one of those who are still playing the EA version. The customer service was so horrific that most people just left. It is apparently true throughout their games; I'm surprised they have any subscribers at all. Very high-handed tactics to get people to pay more and more, without offering anything in return. They also use the unity engine. In any case, it is obvious that they have a business model that was created by a Harvard MBA with no empathy for the customer. Bitter? Yes.... we have a group of several hundred players and each has a customer service horror story. My impression is that it could have been a successful game, It was just administered very badly.

In any case, the perfect parallel option looks to be superior in just about every way. I, frankly don't know about everyone else, but I would be willing to pay more for this game that for TWO. I really hope you guys get up and running soon. Beta testing?... :))) sure!

I, like the last few die hard's am still playing TWO until the fat lady sings. I have met so many wonderful people through out the years both on TWO and Tiger Woods pc versions. Started with TigerWoods 05 then 06, 07, and 08. Then started TWO at the start of the 2nd beta. I am now trying to recruit all the members of Thailand Golf Club to come over here. Everything I have seen on PP looks just amazing. Keep up the fantastic work PP..........RemoBruskie

Thanks for the tips guys but I found a TW PC PGA 2008 DVD at eBay. It will be here soon. There was one other seller there as well. I figured since TW2008 is a full installation PC golf game it would give me a better feel for the up and coming PerfectGolf game which has animations and 3DFX.

I was referring to Links! That is not to say there aren't some fantastic TW designers here too!

I said,

...but I found a DVD for TW 2008 at eBay and bough it. I didn't want to go back to Links,  wanted to play something similar to PG with animations and better SFX. I certainly appreciate the updated info on Links but TW seems more compelling because it's very much like PerfectGolf.

Animations. Check.

SFX. Check.

Course Designer. Check.

Highly detailed golf courses. Check.

Has courses designed by Mike Jones. Check.

Sounds like Perfect Golf to me, lol.

links  is  definatly in my opinion  the  better pc  golf  game,  although  TW   08  has  its  points  and  is  definatley  worth  playing aswell  if  u got  time,   but  i  must  chime  in  with  my  opinion  on  the  new  TW  game  for  consoles,  i  admit  its  had  a  few  problems  mostly  stat  releated  and  a  club  reset  issue,  but  as  far  as  the  ps3  console  version  is corncerned  the  courses  are  stuning,  and  for  any  real  life  golfers  there  is  a  sim  mode  which  is  really  life  like  and  very  hard  to  shoot low  at,  especially  when  using  the  motion  controler  and  the  simstix  club  attachment.  i  eventually  hope  that  after  a  sucsesfull  pc  launch   the  PP   team  will venture  into  the  console  market   and  the  motion  control  route,as  with  the  great   options  and  gameplay  this  game  offers  combined  with  a  motion  capture  device  be  it  kinnect  or  move,  it  would  bring  a  true  golf  simulator  into  your  home  for  a  fraction  of the price  of  these   big  ones  on the  market  for  shops   and  rich  people

I completely agree with you Daz. Everything I've seen up until this point has indicated that PP will be far closer to replicating Links than it will TW.  In fact all pics and videos that I've seen look like an improved 3D version of Links.
