Thanks for this topic Mike. Great the game has a BLI now. I would like to make one little point about the BLI in regard to the use of the grey colour, indicating the breaks. I'm sorry but it's just not up to par. I can see it, but that's about it. Real clear it ain't. I know other people have made remarks about this, but now the topic has been pinned, I hope other players will join me in asking you to change that grey into something more clear. Like a brighter yellow or very light green maybe? I read somewhere else that you objected to change the colour, because when playing in the fog, one can't see the break line?..
I can understand that, but let's look at this realistically. Playing in the fog can not be the basis for deciding on the standard colour of the break line? The standard should be based on playing in normal weather conditions, not fog. Maybe an extra option build in the game, so players can chose between colors is possible? I hope this is going to be adressed, because PG deserves a perfect BLI. Thanks in advance!
PS: my appologies: I found/read the other topic 'The new BLI' and I see it's being adressed big time.
I'll leave at that.

Change the color to a brighter one.
Also either get rid of the arrow or move it higher on the stick.

Ron,
Already changed. It is now a slightly off white. Have you not had the update?
Or are you saying change the off white version to a different colour?
Agree on the mouse cursor.

Agree on the mouse cursor.
The transparency should be reduced and the arrow should grab the stick no more than 2/3 down the stick. I've posted these suggestions before.

I agree that the BLI, though useful, is limited. It not only needs to be brighter, but somehow more obvious. Often the arrow is hidden behind the "stick", and is so small as to be useless when reading green contours in "green view" from the fairway. And though I appreciate the "green view" function, it also does not do the job of showing green contours from the fairway. Anybody who watches the pros on tv knows how important this is for placing the ball on the "proper" side of the hole (and please don't tell me again I just need to memorize the greens...for those so dedicated they can turn any aid off). I still think a way of getting a "topo view" with 1-3" contours would do the trick very well (switchable of course).

Any reason why PP have not thought about implementing the same kind of BLI that exists in Links 2003? (To the uninitiated the strength of the break was indicated by a thermometer type barber-pole measure). The present version is still a poor relation to the Links variety IMO.

I agree Andy. I raised this point awhile back in another thread, but all that was done was to change the color of the indicator line. For me the BLI line is still difficult to see and properly evaluate the amount of slope.

The length of the line indicates the steepness of the slope. I've had no trouble adjusting from the Links BLI to PG's.

Joe is correct and I have gone to using the BLI exclusively because, IMHO, it gives me a much better read of the green.

I too understand the concept - after all I have played Links since 2001 - but this was not really what my post was asking about. I just don't think the implementation is as good as the Links 2003 variant and was seeking clarification from someone at PP if it has been ruled out for the future.
