We didn't do any flybys for the golf channel - I saw some of their stuff and it didn't look very good to me

If by the Golf Channel, you are referring to CBS, I would agree, The colors in many of the flybys was way over saturated. I couldn't paint my grass that bright of a green.

Thankfully Sky Sports (UK) used the PP version. Looked real neat, as the majority of holes got shown, although 12, 13, 16 and 18 got the lions share, which was expected.

Also saw a few fly-by's of Harbour Town on Sky's overage this weekend. So far, all the PGA Tour events I've seen this year on Sky have all been using PP created virtual layouts.

Only downer was Sky did an in-house presenter challenge for nearest the pin on Hole 12, but the shot center wasn't using the PP created hole, but what appeared to be the one they had from the previous company that did their old fly-by's and shotcenter holes.

Here was the winning effort

The golf channel and CBS used different flythroughs. The CBS ones were taken using a drone and yes they overcooked the goose on the saturation and darkness, I don't think the men in green jackets were very happy.

The advantage of flythroughs in a 3d engine rather than by using a drone is that we can fly down the holes at any time and in any way we like either highlighting player's ball positions, showing a taster of upcoming shots and best of all we can fly them in real time while the players are walking to their ball. We used an xbox controller to fly our virtual camera around the course.
