Thinking of buying but I am wondering how many courses are currently available? Also are there more courses "coming soon"? Thanks.

McHugh, Glad to see that you are thinking about joining us.
There are seven courses available now and maybe a new one
with the next update. Big changes coming with the upgrade to
Unity 5 probably with the next couple weeks or so.

Currently 7. It's my understanding that by the time of Full Release, the number could be up to 10. No guarantee. Also, the course designer, Course Forge (CF), is scheduled to be release with the Full Release of PG. If that happens, expect to see a rapid availability of user designed courses to follow. CF is currently in heavy testing by a number of course designers that have vast experience in creating courses in other golf games.

Thanks for the info. What are the changes to Unity 5. I guess I really am in the dark about this game as I thought the current version was the full version.

The game is currently in Early Access (EA). EA is basically beta testing. At the completion of EA, the EA participants will receive the Full Release version plus the course designer, which is currently being heavily tested by a number of people, most that have course design experience with other golf games.
In terms of the conversion from Unity 4.6 to Unity 5, I refer you to this forum thread.

If you elect to participate in EA, you have the opportunity, your choice, to help develop this game via identification of issues, (bugs) or by requesting improvements (New Features).
At this point in the development, I firmly believe that the game is good investment. The development team, though small, is very active in communicating with the community and values the communities input.
I suggest that you peruse the many posts and familiarize yourself with the game and the various comments from the great community.
Hope this helps and, of course, if you have specific questions, please post them. Guaranteed that someone, from the community or the developers will be around to respond.

The changes are basically that Course Forge and Perfect Golf are being migrated from Unity 4 to Unity 5.
Unity 5 is the latest version of the 3D design platform upon which CF and PG are built. Unity 5 comes with many improvements over Unity 4, hence the upgrade. The dev's are working on the conversion as I type.
The BETA testers are awaiting news of being able to test the game running in the Unity 5 environment. Some BETA testers have a BETA version of Unity 5 Course Forge and are currently testing. Basically a case of watch this space.
