Well, things are too quiet around here, again, so why not post a new thread with a few pertinent, rapier sharp questions for our kindly Overlords to answer at their leisure - and for our esteemed members to pass the time with while debating their merit. Today's topic is online play, because once PG will be out, there ought to be a matching website, somewhere, where members can go and... do what exactly?

1) Will there be a www.perfectgolfonline.com = an online site for players of PG to play against each other?

2) Will membership to this site require a subscription fee?

3) Will there be some sort of lobby for players to see who is on and what sort of matches can be joined?

4) Will there be daily/weekly/online tourneys? Seasons?

5) Will there be rankings or ladders with aggregated stats to keep track of player performance?

6) Will players be able to create or join groups and band together? There was mention of "Country Clubs".

6b) What features, possibilities will these groups/CCs offer?

7) Will there be a spectator mode for players to enter and watch ongoing golf games?

8) Will there be a pro shop for extra DLC?

9) Will there be a golf course archive included, to browse through and download member designs?

Guys, feel free to add your requests/enquiries about the online experience of PerfectGolf.

1) Will there be a www.perfectgolfonline.com = an online site for players of PG to play against each other?

Goal is to have a portal for online games country clubs etc

2) Will membership to this site require a subscription fee?

Probably but no decisions on pricing have been are yet

3) Will there be some sort of lobby for players to see who is on and what sort of matches can be joined?

That is the plan

4) Will there be daily/weekly/online tourneys? Seasons?

Our goal is to provide an online career mode and let community sites and country clubs set up through the portal run events their embers want

5) Will there be rankings or ladders with aggregated stats to keep track of player performance?

No thoughts although goal is to have full stat tracking

6) Will players be able to create or join groups and band together? There was mention of "Country Clubs".

Yes by setting up their own private or public golf club / country club.

6b) What features, possibilities will these groups/CCs offer?

When we get to that point we will ask the community for guidance

7) Will there be a spectator mode for players to enter and watch ongoing golf games?

We would lie to offer this

8) Will there be a pro shop for extra DLC?

Yes

9) Will there be a golf course archive included, to browse through and download member designs?

We have had lots of discussions on this subject. We will probably only offer real courses we have license to use and fictional courses that have met our QA process and where the designer wants us to host them

 Is this true?

Don't see why not, unless the lobby game is password protected.

This is one of the great options in iRacing, that you can hop on a server where a practice session or race is in progress and just go and spectate and watch the action unfold.

Would be cool if each lobby allowed 'XX' spectators to pop in and take in a few holes, especially on occasions where you don't have enough time to fire up the game and play  a full round yourself, you could go and watch 2 or 3 holes of Lez and his chums playing the Links.

If the host doesn't want any Tom, Dick or Harry coming to watch, give them the option of password protecting their game so that only invited folks can go and watch.

;)

As long as the Game Lobby is as good or better then 08 was, then PG will be gr8!!  User friendly is what must be accomplished.

TWO failed miserably in that department and is just one of many reasons it failed..  When you have to practically email someone just to set up a game, well, you know..

Done with designing.

Released Courses: Real

The Golf Club @ Dove Mnt. AZ

Aronimink PA

Amana Colonies Iowa

Fictional:
