when Unity goes on to a later version, will courses created in Unity 5 work in say Unity 6, or will they need to be upgraded everytime.

All depends on what version of Unity PP decide to run with.

The move from 4 to 5 was done because it opened up new options for the game and designer that 4 didn't have.

I would think 6 would need to be a big leap forward for PP to do the same port from 5 to 6 as they did from 4 to 5.

Hey Mick  Unity looks like they upgrade their  version   every 2 to 21/2 years  As Daz says  PG may not feel 6 is worthwhile so could be 5 years   before they consider upgrading to say 7.

Even then  no one can answer your question because it would depend on how Unity codes its   upgrade  it may or may not be possible to use the same courses.  Unity 5 couldn't  use unity 4 courses obviously but not to say Unity 6 or 7 couldn't use Unity 5 courses.
