If this is in unity? Then I've found that right clicking under the orientation arrow thing top right and then selecting "top view" and then zooming in/rotating negates the issue where if you get too close the terrain disappears and thus making smaller zoomed in adjustments impossible. If not apologies for my jumping into your thread

Looks like a shadow from something above the terrain. If you made the terrain using an fbx file, and converting it to terrain, it might be the fbx object that is still there causing a shadow. Just a guess without knowing how the terrain was created.

I don`t think it was created using a fbx file ( not that I know what that is ), It`s probably something I have caused myself, will figure it out hopefully, lol.
