Mike or anyone else who uses Unity please help me out here if you can.  When I create a terrain in Unity I am unable to resize it simply by using the right click + scroll method Mike uses in tutorial #1.  I can move the terrain around in the project window via this method but it never changes shape/size.  The only way I can accomplish that is by grabbing different sids of the crossbar and stretching/shaping the terrain in that way.  Would that be detrimental to using CF?  i ask because this method changes the XYZ values in the Inspector.  Those values never change in Mike's first tutorial.  Any help is appreciated.

WKD, I'm not quite sure what you exactly mean by that. It would help if you gave us a time in the 1st clip in minutes and seconds so that I could see more precisely what your problem is.

More in general: If you want to resize a terrain, you best go to "Terrain" in the top menu, then to "Set Resolution", and input your sizes in the first two fields of the window that pops up. That's how I do it - once -because that's step Nr. 1 anyway - and once the size of the terrain is set, there is really no need to alter it any more (which makes me wonder why you would want to do that in the first place)

You can also resize the terrain, and indeed every other object in your project, by selecting the 4th button in the top left corner, the one that looks like a square with 4 arrows in the corner. This switches the gizmo arrows to change the size of each Axis, Y, Y, Z. To resize all the axes at once, so that the aspect does not change, you need to click in the center of the gizmo. (The gizmo being that colored arrow thingy haunting your viewer)

That's all that comes to mind and I hope your difficulty was addressed. If not, do not hesitate to specify a bit more.

PS: Oh, and in case you meant resizing the view as in: "Zooming in and out" here are the Keys you need to press to move about on your Unity terrain. Sorry in advance if you already got the hang of it:

• Pivot your view in all direction: Right click and move your mouse.

• Moving the viewer view up or down: Right click your mouse and press Q for up or E for down

• Moving the viewer view left or right: Right click your mouse and press A for left or D for right

• Zooming in the viewer view in or out: Right click your mouse and press W for in and S for out  OR use your mouse wheel

All of this is quite slow, so if you want to speed up these movements, you can: Hold the Shift Key pressed

With a bit of practice, you can zoom, move and pan your viewer camera fluently by holding several of these keys simultaneously. Takes a bit of getting used to... Again, that may not be at all what you meant. Just in case. After all, chances are that viewing adjustments in the finished game will use the same commands.

Thnx for the reply.  The key combinations at the bottom of your post seem to be what I need.  I have been using that some this a.m. and it seems to help.  The part of the vid I was referring to is immediately after Mike creates his terrain and gets ready to add the top view texture.  I think I mistook movement around the existing plot for stretching/resizing.  I can see that while playing around with the key combinations you provided.  Good to know there is a simple answer to my question.  Sorry my post was a bit confusing initially.

Thx for stepping in Kablamo, while we're working hard behind the scenes it's a great help for people like yourself to jump in and help others. Sorry I've been a bit quiet recently but I've been travelling a lot and also helping to build the team which is creating courses for PerfectGolf as well as creating them myself.

That would be with two m's or just K11, Mike. No problem. The matter at hand was just about within my poor grasp of things, glad to help.

Yeah Mike it is squared away.  Can't believe I was thinking you were resizing the terrain when all you were actually doing was moving in closer to the surface.  Those commands provided in this thread by Kablammo have helped immensely.  I am sure when CF is released we may blow up the intenet with questions haha.  Good to know you are steadily working on courses.  Looking fwd. to whenever we get a glimpse of them.   Also looking fwd. to your next tutorial.
