Any of the Asus motherboards with  AM3+ Sockets  that were made by Asus in the last few years are at good prices and so is the AMD FX 8350.  It can be overclocked from 4000Mhz on my system to 4410Mhz.  That's about a 10% increase, which is plenty for anyone who wants a darn good gaming machine without paying out the nose.

That 8350 is a beast and ovrcloked insane...your one video where the startup splash screen took shown 0-100% then gane loads in insane quickly.. I showed you my oclock on the A105800K to 4392 on air and multiplyer to 44. Runs excellent but its time for the 8350 .........and selling the a105800 K setup mboard, cpu

The FX series are powerhouses and will fit nicely with the 960. Gtx. But my A10 is holding back the 960 correct Crusher

Hi Fairwayman.   No, not all.   The A10 series specs look good. Whether a person has a dual core or quad core (like yours) clocked at 3.0 to 4.0Ghz the GTX 960 will work fine.  Just make sure there are as few programs running in the background, maybe 2 or 3 icons in the System Tray or programs minimized to the Taskbar.  The advantage to 8 cores simply means I can run many programs as long as I have plenty of Memory. In my case 16 GB is more than enough for all the programs I run after I get started each day after boot-up.

Also. When I optimize a Windows PC remotely I make sure I stop unnecessary Processes and Services from loading during startup too.  Those two areas are usually never addressed and use the most resources in Windows when the computer is powered on.

Here is my System Tray as I type this answer to you:

*HRC.exe is a free program that allows you to switch screen resolutions very quickly. (Hotkey Resolution Changer).  I have been using this on in my Taskbar for at least eight years.

And while I am here I want to show why I like Windows 7 Start Menu better than Windows 10.   I can customize the Start Menu with pinned items, customize the links on the right side of the menu rather than have tiles. I really despise W8/W10 tiles.

Anyone reading this: You'll see that I am using Windows Classic Theme.  My computer runs great with or without Themes. I want to point out to all users with mid-range computers.  Your 3click meter will stutter less if you run Windows in Classic Theme.  A lot of your system resources are being used to create the Aero effect.  Nice when not gaming but recommend to switch to Class Theme during golfing, especially those who use 3C. ;)

Thanks Smoke.  If you have never visited my site it's in my profile.  I adhere to TOS by never posting my site link in the forum or putting it in my signature.  Two golf sites do have a direct link to my remote service site but that's because the owners and I have interacted since way-back-when. We simply exchanged links.

I am upgrading my content to reflect a lot of AMD hardware.  Not against Intel at all but realize that many gamers are on a tight budget and when they want to build or upgrade their computers they can find exactly what they need through my research.

Happy golfing with PG. We all are waiting with bated breath for polished final release.

The Asus boards come with Turbo Core Unlocker.  If there are hidden cores they will be activated.  However, one can edit the registry to unpark the cores.
