Information was released today concerning EA Sports next installment of golf and tiger woods will not have his name attached. Here is the link

Doesn't really go alot in the way of showing anything... console certainty, with likely pc version. If you're a fan of EA golf games, you'll likely be assured the new Gen Golf game will play the same, but look different. If that floats your boat, fine. I suspect they will watching the guys here..

Well, we don't know much yet about this new game, except what one of its courses might be and that Mr. Wonderful is no longer in it. (Btw, I'm so sick of Sawgrass - always the same golf course through decades of computer golf in different games and on different platforms. Nice course, of course, but I can do without it from now on, after having OD'd on it in the past.). Also, this will probably be consoles only and most certainly not come with a course designer.

One thing we do know, however, is who and what EA are: And that makes me contemplate this new game with polite indifference. I shall keep it on the edge of my radar, just on the blurry border of my field of peripheral vision, hoping PP will soon attract my focus and make this colorful world of mainstrEAm computer fare disappEAr.

If you look at the direction TW's PC Series was heading 04,05,06,07,08 and then look at what TWO looked like, you knew that EA Sports Really Blew it!!!! They went backwards in to many way's to list here... Not to mention they left a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths. I for one was totally shocked when I first joined the beta testing for TWO.. I'll leave it at that...

 

Suffice it to say, I don't know if EA  Sports can ever get back the PC Community with a new golf game.. Just can't be trusted. Will have to see though...

I see no EA 2015 release for the PC.  All that the ad mentioned is console versions.

I had read that EA were taking a year out and that online pursuits might continue from 2015 onwards.

Name one real evolution to the game since Headgate Studios, developers of PGA Championship Golf, developed Tiger Woods 2002. Though still 2002-2008 was sure better than Online

I'm no expert about this matter, I just know that I liked 2008 more than the earlier years. whether the game engine was the same for several years and they just added a few new features is not my expertise.. I just know that 08 blew away TWO and still does..

 

IMO, 08 is the best game out here right now and if someone doesn't build a better game than that, then I will stick with designing and playing for the 08 game, which btw has a following.....

 

I am not going to argue the point, "who's game is better" I have my opinion and this is it...

 

It's the same thing I told EA when I was beta testing that horrible game TWO, this has got to be better then 08 to work and sadly, it wasn't, no matter how much some of us put our heart and soul into trying to get it there, they just wouldn't listen to the community...

Sorry my post was kind of assertive and aggressive looking, I was just making a point about EA. I do think it is an excellent golf sim it is just a shame that they like to recycle assets so much, and when they decide not to do a far worse job themselves.

To axe360, i play 08 and love your courses...........look for your new designs all the time. Would love to see you design at TGC.  I switched to a gamepad  'cause i needed to play an updated game. I really enjoy TGC. Will play TS here if the game ever comes to fruition. Still, would love to see you design at TGC. Obviously a fan.

I have about all the EA golf games - I am convinced the EA golf game will stink they could careless about making a game each year that is distinctivelly different and better they just clone the game to get more money.
