I  admit that I have clicked on (one star) on a person's reputation in the forum only because I do not like that person. So I admit the truth right up front about this system. Many members do this too, making the Members's Reputation Rating bogus. I suggest removing it from the forum.

Members reputation votes should be based on content and helpfulness, not on personality conflicts.

I think we could do without the member reputation stars. They are not being used for the right reason IMO.

This type of online disrespect will always exist, but it doesn't have to exist in the (best golf game) ever created forum. B)

I didn't realize that we individual members had star ratings.  Ratings on threads, yes I've seen and I've voted where applicable.

I agree though - it's kind-of pointless.  I do like have the "like" button on individual posts within a thread though.  I think this helps cut down on a bunch of "+1" or "I agree" posts (both of which I'm guilty of) and generally keeps threads cleaner.

speaking of that like button, i would like to see a dislike button on posts in the feature request forum. might help the dev's figure out what to move a long on because of the want and need of such items. also a lot more people would put in input by voting a like or a dislike without having to make a post about it in the thread. a lot  of people do come here and read and never post could be a way to get some involved.

Actually Dave. I find it hard to believe you. When someone is first to respond to an idea like this in the tone you just did, it shows their true intent. I am cetain you voted on stars based on disliking a person, not the content in their post. After all, you are only human as well. ;)

We all know that when a (clique member) agrees with other clique members posts, especially when a post opposes the view of non-clique member the (Like Votes) show the same clique names many times.

I think the voting of anything in PG Forum is counter productive. We are not Facebook and as a small community votes are not always intended for the right reasons.

Hopefully when MJ or AJ reads this topic they will chime in with their own thoughts.

This post is worth considering and hopefully will not digress to a one-upmanship contest.

Threads like this do more harm than any reputation system.

It's best that everyone just stays out of it and hopefully the devs close it before it gets out of hand.

Posting negative ideas about posting at all is fuel for a confligration. You and I don't go there anymore, at least we have not for a long time.

You and I should keep it that way and if we differ we should use PM's.  Far better than displaying our contempt for one another in an open forum.

In general: They do harm when people react with toxic or sarcastic remarks. A simple "agree or disagree" with forthright content is expected from us adults.

I am sure you agree, Acrilix.

I have no interest in this topic as I have NEVER clicked on any reputation button on a forum ever. I don't even know where it is.

I think this thread was just started to bait people into conflicts. I'm not interested in that either and I hope no one else is.

There are plenty of better things to debate on this forum.

End of.

And you are the first peson to begin the tit-for-tat. Shame on for trying to derail this topic. I won't argue with you as I have already expressed my opinion on how you and I should communicate, keeping the forum's topics free from our caustic remarks and innuendos to each other.

So post your last sarcastic remark to me but do not expect a response.  I won't allow you to begin what we both halted over a year ago.

This thread is already showing that it's more of a waste of time than having "like" buttons or "star ratings" buried in someone's profile.  Hell - I didn't even know they existed until I poked around looking for it after you posted this thread.
