All the guys at PP, I'm sure you have heard, but if not, today, 14th January 2014, one of the popular Online Golf Games, "GolfStar 2" has announced it is closing down on 24th February 2014.

There will be quite a few hungry online golfing gamers chomping at the bit for action, so the door is open and your opportunity is there for the taking.

I first viewed PP back at the beginning of 2013, and was very excited about the videos and all the chit-chat, and then heard around mid 2013 that the game would be looking for a late 2013 early 2014 release, but now we are in mid January 2014 and not much information to the World Wide Web has been mentioned.  Anything would be appreciated, even if it is to say the game will definitely be coming out, but not until late 2014, anything at all would be grateful.

Thanks

JohnEtham. :)

I often wonder if folks who play these Shot Online and Golfstar games look at other golf games like TW, Links, CPG, JN etc and because they don't have the microtransactions for booster balls, hyper clubs, stamina shirts, pinseeking pants etc. they just don't bother with them.

Shot Online and Golfstar IMO are all about getting levelled up as soon as possible so you can shoot -25 everytime you play. The proper golf games we like to play bring the arcade crowd too much in to the real world, lol.

;)

Try WGT!!!!!!!!! I've been playing that since TWO went south. There's quite a few displaced TWO players scattered around WGT. It's definitely a hard game to learn, and playing in a tournament set by WGT, is impossible to beat the top players, because, the top players cheat with programs. It's rampant with cheating, and the owners could care less, as long as they rake in the bucks, and believe me, they do. $25.00 for a driver. You need to shell out at least $100.00 to buy better equipment. I play the game, and have gotten better, although not great at the game, I have managed several under par rounds. The double eagle, and an ace have eluded me, as I can't seem to even come close. I sure wish PP would work allot harder on getting out PG sooner. I've been patient, and I need a game as good as TWO was, and yes, with what's out there in cyberland, TWO was the best. Now it's time for PP to show the world, that you can have your "cake", and eat it too.

Yes Dave, i'm stuck over at WGT. I'm in the same group as TomJ. "Nice and Friendly". I haven't really spent much time playing TBMP rounds. The game takes long enough to complete 18 holes. I also, at this time, am having problems. I've been packing, because I have to move. I was living with and taking care of my elderly Mother. She passed away December 14, 2013 after a short illness. She had a mild stroke November 10, and died 34 days later after contracting pneumonia. I don't play as much as before, but try on a round or two with group tournaments each day. I did notice you are friends with TomJ, so, i'll send you a friends request, the next time i'm on WGT. My screen name is GAD59.

Reality Assessment about installed PC golf:

Unless the younger generation sees another "star golfer" on Television who makes headlines like Tiger Woods did from 1999 to 2008, then golf simulations (installed) on a PC or a console are not going to be very alluring.

Sure. We will spread the word about PG but who out there besides "us" can relate to installed golf games?  We'll be ready to pay and play but without someone endorsing a new golf-sim it's going to be a major uphill climb.

lol..

I disagree... but understand the concern.

Before Tiger... regarding games, we had alot of variety out there... granted, some were on the backs on other names, such Daly, Leadbetter, Nicklaus, Palmer but some stood without those names too. Golf uses so much of what is in the game to promote itself, it doesn't need a name every year to endorse it.

We've seen courses stand alone regarding the game and beauty of golf. Look at Pebble Beach, Sawgrass, Congressional, Valderrama over the years and tell me certain holes don't stand out. The fact that they do stand out, has been likely marketed in other ways that you're less able to recall, but have been made aware of them. Now add the most famous course in the world, Augusta, and tell me the name of the Tournament they clamber to participate for that Green Jacket.... I think we can all easily say the name.

Certainly Tiger had something alluring... for one he had it from such a young age. That won't change... it's history now. It still lives on within the Golf world. What we're seeing as the years do roll by, is emulation or attempts at it. Rory is struggling to live upto expectation, but you can't say he isn't successful. The game of golf will always promote itself in many ways.

What we're slightly seeing at this moment in time too, is the hype surrounding this game here at PP, being transferred to HB Studios. Whether they are benefitting over there from the recent developments here at PP is a debateable subject. A little like a drum roll beginning here, and suddenly a tannoy going off announcing something else is turning peoples heads. Not to say they are missing anything yet, the drum is still rolling, but I daresay HB are enjoying the fact an audience was forming for them to hone in upon.
