I have been refraining from putting any pics up because this is the 4th course i have started, the previous three were scrapped, the last effort was 9 holes complete before i binned it, only up to the 5th hole here, but maybe if i post a pic i will get some inspiration and will to finish it. As a cross over from TGC i have been struggling with CF of late, i do not think my experience with GNCD has done me any favours whatsoever. Anyway, this is a pic of the 5th hole tee area, hope i can keep this going, will post some more pics as i go.

Nice one Dogz

I know what you mean re GNCD , here you start from scratch with nothing actually you can do that there

but hard to get started with what look and feel you go for, done plenty of holes as well and scrapped them.

Hey how do you get the clouds in the scene as i just have clear skies

Keep going mate,  maybe use google images and get some inspiration

Thanks

Haha!  the clouds were drawn in by hand with photoshop, mainly because the sky brightness was a bit much, i turn the lighting up when im designing and forgot to turn it back off...yeah i'm struggling with sculpting, especially in and around bunkers, i'm never happy with the way they look...we'll plug on though.

If needed there are a good number of free skyboxes in the Asset Store.

This is shelved for the foreseeable future, too many problems with unity and CF, to be honest i do not like this new version, it's laggy on my system even with vegetation turned off, also crashing when rebuilding splines is getting worse and becoming annoying. Got a new barebones rig coming in the new year, will revisit it then.

Well i'm 9 holes in and its chugging to a standstill, so i'm not gonna push this to 18 as it would be too painful a process.  I fired up a track i was working on before this that has 7 completed holes and the design process runs much smoother in unity, it's also heavily planted so i don't know why this one would be so slow, either way this is not going any further than 9 i'm afraid, i'll finish it off and move on to something else.

Well, in that case it will be a beaut of a nine holer.  Have you been in touch with MJ or any of the other designers to see if they have any thoughts on why it's bogging you down?

Just an update on this track...i have started on hole 18, but my rig decided to fail on me..bloody brand new too! so its gone back to the supplier, so basically i am out of action for a few weeks.  Once its back i will finish up 18 then release it for testing, i enjoyed creating it with my new system (much smoother experience) and look forward to future projects.
