Looking good Zinger.

All I see from the pics is that the Unity terrain

is tiling too much. Break it up by painting other textures

at different opacitys and strengths, and adding grasses.

Hard to tell, but the white appears to be possibly a spline

too close to another, not painted, or high fresnel, but

just guessing without. Post an overhead in the private forum

with splines on and we will have a look.

Good job bud.

Yep, looking very good as a rough and ready starting point. I like the slope on the fairway on Hole 2 myself.... makes you think about the ball's reaction on landing as well as your landing point.

Hi Jt83-Mate interesting you know Mt Coolum- i have played mt coolum public course many times and that huge mountian is in view  on every hole -this was my intention on this course to have panoramic  mounatin views as you work you way around

How do you know Mt coolum- have you visited there or do you live in the area, would love to know

I have climbed that mountain a few times, its so serene up there

Cheers

I might have driven past it ages ago, but I mostly know it from TV when the PGA was played there.  Yet another Aussie course that would look good in PG.  I wonder if anyone has had any luck with Lidar...

Yeah, it's the data availability that is the biggest problem. I would love to do the Palmer course

It is a shame we cant get Real Lidar for Aussie courses

Just an update on course,  well i am excited i just added a few sounds to new course,

its my first attempt and wow the course comes alive- you little ripper i love it

Added some waves breaking on the shoreline on one hole

then added  some australian birds-  I added the australian whip bird and the common koel just to see how they sound

there different in sound than the usual bird sounds

Australian whip bird

common koel

I have a bag full of aussie bird sounds, so will play around and see which ones i like the most

it really makes you feel at home with an aussie flavour

The course really comes to life with sound, just a bit loud so have to fiddle around with volume and distance settings

Few more pics of WIP

What i have found to be very very frustrating is that while in CF the textures looked blended together pretty good

but when you play the game the textures are brighter or lighter and dont look the same as in CF, so then i have to go back and try and fiddle with the textures and i cant get then right,

I am having lots trouble trying to get the semi rough to blend with the fairway texture, so i have gone back and used the default semi rough for now,  dam it why cant it be WYSIWYG-

Some of the pics are default textures and some are my new ones i made, i love the fairway texture, will have to work on the semi rough to try and blend it right with fairway, and will work on a rough textures as well.

I made some sand for the bunkers which looks ok, i have some darker browns and patchy sand as well, also have plenty of other fairway textures as well, but this one looks ok.

PZ,

Don't worry, 1-2 holes per week is good. In the APCD (Links 2003) it used to take some folks a month to get 1-2 holes done, lol.

Pics are looking good bud.

I thought this was the best topic name for this comment.

Should there be a topic that all the courses being developed be listed? So when someone starts a course they add a post.

Just thought before it is released to the masses, it would be good to start.

Not only would this get people excited about what is to come, but also so guys don't duplicate a course (unless they personally wanted to do it).

Any thoughts?

Great idea - Maybe a nice concise list with:

Course Name - Real/Fictional/Location - Designer (forum profile link) - ETA/Status

The forum would be a good spot for a basic pinned topic/list of WIP though
