Sat having a beer at Wimbledon and was thinking how the golf majors compare to the tennis majors. Here are my thoughts:
The masters is like Wimbledon. Very traditional but modern thinking in some ways, plus a bugger to get tickets for!
The US Open is a bit like Roland Garros. Always played on a surface that make for a long slog in matches
The open is like flushing meadows, the championship with massive crowds and stands

The uspga is like Melbourne, with boiling temperatures and most likely to give a surprise winner.

Time for another beer I think!

lol... basically, you're drunk at Wimbledon...

Went many moons ago to Wimbledon myself, and quite honestly, am not really a tennis fan at all. I recall wandering the many courts and not knowing anyone to stand and watch. The Centre courts are hideously extra over-price and deliberately designed to keep out anyone who doesn't drink with their little finger pointing outwards, and with an extra hyphenated middle surname. LOL...

As for Golf in comparison, well....

Don't know as I don't like them! Burger and chips with a bottle of pop was a tender though.

I went to Wimbledon my one and only time with school in 1982.

Managed to see Martina Navratilova, followed by Vitas Geralitis on Centre Court, then we nipped round to Court One to watch Chris Evert-Lloyd  (back then anyway's, lol).

Had some lunch and spent the rest of the day trawling the outer courts. Was a great day and a lot cheaper back then, lol.

Tbh £41 for a ticket on court number 1 all day is pretty decent value in my opinion. Overall prices no worse than any other major sporting event in the uk
