I have been using it for a few h / day since it's release.

My home course is almost done. I must admit that I had high expectations and can only say that I am very impressed. The tool is brilliant, the tutorials are great and the course I made looks way much better then anything I believed I could achieve.

I tried a while back to do something similar with TGC course designer and gave up because the result was embarrassing.

Thank you for your kind words.

(But by tacit agreement we try not to mention the "other" place around here - you probably just caused 50 more or very angry and deliciously hilarious posts on their Perfect Golf off-topic thread. It's a great read if you're into repetitive self-encouragement or circular logic. It's also the Nr. 1 stop on the internet for advanced troll studies.)

Have a great time with CF!

Being new to all of this I missed that. But I do see the logic in your suggestion and will adopt it for any future posts.

Good to see you here Tretee. Be warned, it has ruined my sim golfing! Not enough time for 2 hobbies. (Mpags on OGT)

I must admit I do check in there for time to time and the gracious Mr Kyne lets the thread run (and run) It varies between really intense and interesting discussions about golf games to tit for tat trolling and misinformation. I believe both games can learn for each other and become better so I have no issue with TCG being talked about in the off topic forum here. Have at it.

Also to the original poster, thanks for the kind words. We already know that great results and hyper accurate courses can be made with CF but we were unsure of how easy it would be for complete beginners to make a course as most of the beta testers had a history of using some kind of golf design software in the past.

Glad you're having fun and look forward to playing your course whenever you decide to release it.

I must say that my short time I had in GNCD was a benifit when I eventually opened up CF ... expecially when it came to brushes ...wich was nothing I was used to from APCD ...

I guess an opinion clarification is in order.

GNDC is a great tool and the people that developed it are very skilled Unity coders. I am sure they did exactly what they wanted to do. A golf course design tool that enables anybody to design something useful even with a console controller.

But it does not suit me or the my wish to design real life recreations that look and play like the real thing.

I am pretty sure there are plenty of casual users that could rightfully argue the benefits of GNDC over anything else past or present. I don't like it but it does not mean that those that do are wrong. They just have different preferences and ambitions.

Thanks for the video tutorials a great help if I had only a manual ... with my brain it causes me to overthink directions and I end up not being able to do what a manual says I should be doing; whereas,  the videos show me exactly what to click on etc. and they are just perfect gives the basics and gets one started and then Course Forge is such a wonderful course creator that it is worth a persons time to make a course. Enables complex course creation with minimal struggle you have achieved what you wanted it was a lot of work for you all but you are now  ICONS.

definition: widely known and acknowledged especially for distinctive excellence

Another benefit to the CF release is that it potentially gives the new user a more complete accurate understanding  though still unattainable  of the amount of work and dedication previous course designers have contended with so uh thanks. :)

Little known fact when King Arthur was trying to make a golf course and he ran into some conflict. King Arthur: There's a peace only to be found on the other side of war. If that war should come I will fight it!    Other important fact. Read the Book of John in the Holy Bible.
